Clean bedding and overall cleanliness. On-site laundry was very helpful, especially since we had to bring our own towels and use them for the beach and for our showers. Everyone was amiable. Interesting history to the tower as well and it's a very unexpected view.
Dunoon is still developing as a destination. It is however a good base for travelling around Argyle and the Cowal peninsula. There are plenty of ferry links relatively to allow travel on Bute, The Mull of Kintyre and on to Arran as well as the link to Inverclyde. We were there for two half days but managed to see Puck's Glen and the Benmore Botanic Gardens, both well worth a visit.
Had a nice sit in Fish Supper beforwe going to a concert in the Burgh Halls. Burgh Halls was a good venue

Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery.
Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery. The Castle Museum is well worth a visit as the staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. The history of Dunoon is fascinating. The Lorne Inn is a great place to eat but there are plenty of other places too. Puck’s Glen with waterfall walk is nearby and the Botanic Garden is close by also. Dunoon is handy for the ferries to Gourock and the Isle of Bute.

I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, yet is close to Glasgow and its amenities.

A trip to Benmore gardens was worthwhile and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. Dunoon it.self is beginning to feel a bit run down and neglected, very limited eating options at night even at the weekend where you strugle to find anywhere after 8pm still serving food apart from carry out food .

Dunoon is a lovely little town that needs to advertise its wares much more effectively. In particular opportunities for walking in the surrounding countryside. There is a reasonable range of shops and places to eat but opening times are too restricted to attract more tourists.
The Whistlefield is amazing. The views across Loch Eck are simply stunning, the food is of excellent quality, the bar is very well stocked, rooms are lovely and the hotel itself is full of old world scottish charm.
The staff are extremely welcoming and can't do enough for you from the minute you arrive. The Whistlefield is a fantastic place to just sit and relax in the old world scottish atmosphere.
We stayed here as part of a week long tour of scotland and absolutely loved the place.. we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Only 5 mins walk from the foot passenger ferry terminal.
Ideal setting right on the esplanade thus the name lol.
Positioned perfectly for lovely walks and always people walking with or without dogs say hello.
The hotel itself is wonderful and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful.
Breakfast and dinners are great as is the overall service, very friendly.
I booked 3 nights but ended up staying 4 and have already booked another week in September, can't wait.
Loved the ambiance and condition of the property. Loved the views especially from the common living room and the breakfast area, it overlooks the water and is great. Great outdoor area that goes right onto the beach. The owners were so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was wonderful, we are from the U. S. And I loved the tradition breakfast why my wife loves the pancake breakfast. This is a true gem and we are so glade we stayed.
We love the flat for its central location and cleanliness. Wifi and kitchen facilities are good .The flat is very quiet and the key safe makes entry easy . Ross is easy to communicate with and we have enjoyed 3 stays so far .
The flat is opposite the promenade and swimming baths . Morrisons and the cinema is close by . Dunoon has plenty of entertainment available . It's wonderful for outdoor walkers ,cyclists etc.
The location is perfect for travelling in and around the Argyll and Bute area, the accommodation is just a minute away from the Greenock ferry making it an ideal base. The stable studio has its own access and is very private, it has everything you need to help you enjoy your stay, certainly a step up from a B & B or a standard hotel room.
The wildlife in and around the gardens was also amazing.
The Whistlefield Inn was a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location. The staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating in this historic inn. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable and the location lends itself to some great hikes and exploring the towns in the area. An extremely relaxing stay.
I was looking for somewhere cheap to lay my head at night for a weekend festival, instead I found a clean, comfortable and well maintained hotel, with excellent staff within walking distance of the festival site. If we are playing again next year I will definitely re-book!
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The shower was strong and the towels were nice and soft. Parking was available directly outside the hotel. The location is great, and is a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre.
Great choice of food, stunning views and an outside area to sit and have a drink. The hotel has been completely renovated with great care and attention to detail. The proprietors were very friendly, helpful and have an excellent local knowledge.
Ideal location for exploring the area, lovely and quiet, beautiful setting. It is a little further from Dunoon than we have stayed previously, just enough locally to entertain the kids but we were blessed with good weather for our stay.
The place was a great size for our group of six. It was really well kept and walking down to the water was really beautiful. And, the fact that we could do some laundry was a pleasant surprise. It's a beautiful area.
The location is great, room was good, nice breakfast and wee pub below great too. Staff were fab too. The food in the Rio restaurant was lovely. I would come back to this hotel if staying in Dunoon.
Stayed here before. Good location in Dunoon, residential area, good parking and easy to stay in small property. Excellent for couple with(out) one or two older children / relatives or friends.
We had a really wonderful stay at the Park Hotel. The staff were so lovely, even changing our room to give us a seaview. We both thought the food was delicious, really enjoyable stay!
