Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town.
Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town. Decent beaches, both free and paid. A good starting point for hydrofoil travel to Ponza Island. From here there are hydrofoils that will take you there in an hour and a half. Other places only use regular cruise ships, but they offer a four-hour journey. There are many good restaurants with local fresh fish and seafood as well as local wines. A place worth staying for shorter and longer periods.

Pleasant surprise! We learnt that the beaches around Anzio are popular among people from the Rome region, so there are mostly local people. Long, very nice beach with clean water, shallow sea and fine sand.AlesCzech Republic - 10Scored 10

if you want to stay near Rome and have the benefit of a cooler summer atmosphere and a beach holiday this it , far better than staying Ostia or Fiumicino. frequent trains air conditioned and an hours journey rome for targeted visiting.

You can reach the center of town and the harbor in less than 10mn walk. This is a very typical Italian house and it feels like proper holidays in Italy; I loved it! The owner is very nice and kind, ready to help and give you tips to where to visit and go. The place is very clean and also quiet. Barely not heard anyone. There is also a little garden outside if you want to sit and relax. I would definitely recommend it !MarineFrance

Close to the train station and close to the beach, 5 minutes walking distance from each. It is perfect for families with kids, having a room with bunk beds. The beach is also with the walking distance - around 15 minutes walk. There are also shops, bars and restaurants around. The host was super friendly and helpful. And the apartment is really spacious and cozy. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest!

Also I was very glad as she offered me a bicycle to ride around as Anzio center is quite far (5km) and local buses go without schedule and not so often. The beach is very long and clean!
