OMG, what a place, what a hotel, what a huge king size bed - best we’ve slept in during our 6 weeks in Japan.
The Onsen was spectacular - views to the forest and stars at night. Dinner was beautiful and sumptuous and breakfast was just as good.
We got an exceptional rare for the one night on booking.com with half board. It was such great value for money.
The next morning we drove to the south of Mount Iwaki to a 10km long road up to the mountain top (in May) so it was warm and the skies were so clear. If you’re driving you must go here for the view and a snow ball or two in late Spring!

We bought half board packages living in a Japanese style room. Good experience to staying in a hot Spring hotel. Very good Coffee. I would not say Dinner buffet was fantastic but most food were delicious . All you can drink, including alcohol was a bonus.

Ajigasawa itself is a small Japanese town and it was interesting to wander around for an afternoon. Most of the sights are outside of the town and we did not get to them because we did not have a car.
It isn't touristy, more of a place to enjoy Japan as it is.
