This hotel deserves its average rating above 8. In the off season, the town was quiet. The ocean front room was large, clean, and adequately equipped. The room’s simplicity reminded me a bit of a Japanese ryokan, attaining a certain elegance through minimalism. The ocean view from our balcony was spectacular.

This is a comfortable place to stay and very close to the station. The breakfast made it completely worth the stay. Freshly made food with eggs, meat, and fruit were the perfect start to our day. The owners are very friendly and welcoming too. I would definitely stay here again!

My favorite place I've ever stayed. Loved this place. It sits a little above the town with the view of the town and beach. Protip-go for whirlpool room. So awesome. And request room 804 if possible. Excellent view, fully equipped room. Cool relaxing lighting. Tiny little kitchenette and full closet. Bathrobe. Nice staff, clean facility. Walking distance to everything. Ocean on one side, mountains on the other. Great value.

Nice town , lots of Cafes, some restaurants , people were nice and helpful, gets busy on weekends with families and couples mostly. I would recommend renting a car to have the freedom to explore the area.

Jungang Market is pretty good. Lots of food everywhere.
Jungang Market is pretty good. Lots of food everywhere. Catch the SeaTrain to Samcheok and back for a day out. Get a T-money card and just jump on a local bus and go for a trip around town or somewhere way out in the country for a few $. Been to Gangneung 3 times before so there must be something interesting to see here.

Beautiful beaches and a surprisingly pleasant/interesting experience at the Arte Museum and the Heo Gyun Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park. The museum was very engaging in its multimedia displays and the memorial park was a nice quiet spot to have a morning walk.
Chodang Sundubu Village was nice too with many sundubu stew options along with other fun sundubu dishes like sundubu coffee and sundubu ice cream.
Anmok Beach is another area to check out with its many cafes along the beach although it's a little more touristy. I personally preferred Gyeongpo Beach which was larger and with many more dining options nearby.
Gangneung Jungang Market wasn't as fun as the Tourist & Fishery Market in neighbouring city Sokcho though it's large enough to have a walk through. The stores close fairly early so if you're visiting it, make sure to get there by 5pm to get fair time to walk through the market.

A really nice beach resort with plenty to do for a couple of days. The beach and water are gorgeous. Wide white sand beach for as far as the eye can see and clear, clean water. The lake behind is also a nice place to stroll and hire a bike. There are plenty of coffee shops and convenience stores located along the beach front with a wide selection of Korean restaurants and sushi bars.
The only thing missing from this resort, and seemingly all the resorts along the East Coast, is any type of night life. There are no bars to speak of and the night life is really just sitting on the beach and drinking and picnicking. The restaurants are good but are limited to Korean and mainly raw fish. This is a wonderful place to see how the Koreans choose to spend their leisure time but it is not like a western resort would be in such a beautiful place. Some of its simple charm really.
This is truly the place to stay in if you are going to Gangneung. It's right next to the boardwalk along the beach and there are tons of amazing cafes and restaurants nearby! The staff was helpful and easy to talk to even if you don't speak Korean, the check-in/check-out process was super easy, and the balcony and bathroom were especially nice. Would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a fun time and an amazing view to wake up to!
The room was a comfortable size, clean and with a comfortable bed and big bathtub. The windows opened onto a nice little balcony, and the view wasn't bad. The location is perfect because it's right by the beach and there is a convenience store and an early opening coffee shop next door. Overall, the rooms and amenities in this hotel are basic but adequate.
The reception guy was very rude and smelly room and asked me more money even i told that if you asked more i will cancel my room but finally he took 8000won extra this was my 1st time that i saw hotel like this in korea such bad staff and dirty room and for my 2nd night I didn’t use Booking.com i used Hotels.com

The location is perfect! Me and my friend enjoyed the walk on the beach in front of the hotel even though it was already end of November. Also, the swimming pool has an excellent view to the ocean and sauna made us warm and relaxed after whole day of travel.
The room was very nice, with a balcony to the side of the beach. It was noise isolated, so it was easy to sleep at night, even with strong waves outside. The location was great, with an electric vehicle charging station nearby.
The location and the price for a single room for solo travelers. It’s near the bus terminal (though the way to the house from the bus stop can be confusing for people terrible at direction like me- thanks to Naver map though).
Just next to the beach - a lot of convenience stores and restaurants. The hotel was awesome ! Free drinks, massage chair, really clean and the room was bigger and better than I thought
Very cozy place within a reasonable taxi or bus journey from city centre and the beach. Very cozy place with good beds. The owner was incredibly helpful and spoke good English.
The lake view was fantastic in the morning and night🤩 clean room and confortable bed, pillow and blanket. The hotel close with the sea + lake so it was good for a walk.
an excellent location right by the beach, with parking that was near the property but away from the busy street. very clean and comfortable, with a very nice owner.
