Die Unterkunft Atha Safari Resort & Riverside Camping mit Bergblick in Udawalawe bietet Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten mit einem Garten, einer Gemeinschaftslounge, einer Terrasse, einem Restaurant und... Das Resort liegt wunderschön gelegen, im Grün direkt an einem Fluss. Die ganze Anlage ist liebevoll mit unzähligen Steinen gestaltet und sehr ansprechend. Es gibt Liegestühle und Hängematten. Klar ist, dass man einen "Campingplatz" bucht. Wir würden es eher als Glamping bezeichnen. Die "Zelte" sind zu viert sehr eng, aber ausreichend. Jedes Bad ist außerhalb des Zeltes mit einem kleinen offenen Anbau und hin und wieder gibt es kleinere Besucher - Camping eben. Jedes Bett hat Moskitonetze, die sehr hilfreich sind. WLAN ist vorhanden, aber langsam - wie überall in Sri Lanka :) Die Klimaanlage in den Zelten ist ein Segen und funktioniert hervorragend😊 Der Gastgeber ist unwahrscheinlich freundlich und zuvorkommend, hilft bei allen Anliegen. Hat uns eine tolle Safari im Nationalpark mit einem Privatjeep organisiert. Seine Frau und seine Mutter kochen unfassbar leckeres Sri Lankisches Essen. Die Portionen waren immer sehr reichlich. Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen können wir wärmstens empfehlen. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis der Unterkunft und des Essens absolut top! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, sollten wir Udawalawe nochmal besuchen. Wir können es nur wärmstens empfehlen bei Atha und seiner Familie zu übernachten.

Properly isolated and very peaceful. The room is big and spacious with a superb view of the lake and mountains. We had an amazing time here and got to relax and unwind with the family. The caretaker also really went out of his way to look after us. We also got the chance to go to Udawalawe national park and see elephants. Overall the trip was perfect especially at that price! I wish we could have stayed for more days but we have made plans to come again for a longer stay. A hidden Jewel!

I’ve been in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and stayed at more than a dozen places. This one I will never forget. When I first saw the ad, I thought it looked too good to be true. But since there was a special price for the opening, I thought I’d give it a try. I could not be happier with the choice. I've had an unforgettable experience. This place is absolutely fantastic! To help future guests, I will try to provide as much detail as I can in BOTH columns: The cottage only opened in February 2024, so everything is brand new. Unlike in other places, you actually get what you see in the pictures. Everything about this place is very well thought-through and built in a way such as to allow for a most pleasant stay: The cottage is located very quietly in the middle of nature but still close enough to town (5 min by tuktuk). It has an outdoor terrace with two regular and one swing chair offering a lovely view over the garden. The bedroom is beautifully designed and very spacious. The wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to store luggage openly and easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable and the mattrasses have standard European/US length (I mention this because sometimes in Sri Lanka, the mattrasses are shorter so that your feet stick out at the end). The A/C is very powerful and there are no smells (which sometimes happens with older models). It cools down the entire room very evenly. There are multiple electrical outlets which all types of sockets (even USB slots). There are light switches for every single lamp which allows you to set the lighting in just the way you prefer. Worth mentioning here too is the warm temperature of the light. The WiFi is reliable and sufficiently strong for browsing, streaming, and video calls.

Wir wollten eine Nacht nahe des Nationalparks verbringen, damit wir früh zur Safari starten können. Nach dem Buchen der Unterkunft haben wir mit dem Betreiber ganz leicht Kontakt aufnehmen können. Zusätzlich zu anderen Informationen die wir erfragt haben hat er uns angeboten die Safari über ihn zu buchen. Das taten wir und das war die Beste Entscheidung! Er ist selber mit uns auf Safari gefahren und hat sich Mühe gegeben uns so viele Tiere wie möglich zu zeigen. (Elefanten, Rehe und vieles mehr) Auch die Unterkunft hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Alles war paradisisch ruhig, sehr gemütlich und sehr sauber. Wir haben auch noch spontan Abendessen bestellen können. Dabei haben sie auch darauf geachtet es für uns nicht so scharf zu machen.

The owner’s hospitality is wonderful, they were very helpful and we felt them as our family. The husband and wife are always prompt to act if any request made by us. Very clean and spacious to stay. The provided facilities are like staying at home. The balcony view is beautiful, the small river makes us relaxing. I really enjoyed the stay. We are looking forward to stay again. I have recommended to my friends as well if they are on a holiday to Rathnapura.

This was one of the best nature accommodation experiences that I've ever had. We were able to completely disconnect and bathe in nature for two days. I never write reviews but honestly felt compelled to do so for this property. I kind of am scared that somehow many people will find out about it and it will lose it's beautiful appeal by becoming overcrowded! But for anyone thinking about having an adventure and venturing deep into the jungle in Sri Lanka spending a night surrounded by the elements in an amazing luxury setup with absolutely wonderful staff and an exceptional cook then look no other way. Thank you for allowing us to have such an amazing experience. It had been years since we were able to slow down and do just nothing. And us spending our day idly was the best part of this stay. Reading, writing, hiking, trekking, swimming in a natural pool, listening to the rain and the river water flowing, watching fireflies, staring at the shadows of trees on the ceiling, we felt that we were children again! We'll definitely be coming back. A big thank you to Chandana and Dissanayake for their great hospitality and absolutely AMAZING food. And of course a big thank you to the owner of the property that was extremely helpful making sure we are comfortable and very well taken care of during our stay. Please keep the property the gem that it is, sustainably nestled inside the jungle co-existing with Sinharaja in such a beautiful way! Thanks for providing us with such a great opportunity to reconnect with nature.

Aji's Fruit Farm is a unique place to stay. The cottage/bungalow has two bedrooms, complete kitchen facilities, air-conditioning and a washing machine!!! The wide verandah has comfortable table and chairs for relaxing and taking in the breeze. The cottage is situated amid grassy coconut groves on an award-winning fruit farm. Just meters away is the property lake front where you can swim. At the you have a lovely cabana, hammocks and swing (with outdoor restaurant under construction). Sunrise view from the cabana should not be missed followed by a delicious breakfast. Aji is a wonderful, thoughtful host. The accommodation is about 30 minutes from Uda Walawe NP, so within easy access, and a lovely peaceful alternative. We were sorry we could only stay one night.
