Situated in Nottingham Road and only 21 km from Fort Nottingham Museum, Springvale Farm features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This was an unexpected stay in the area after car troubles but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We stumbled on this farm in a panicky effort to find pet-friendly accommodation and I still can't believe our good fortune. The farm, and everyone on it, are fantastic. We were looking for a room for 1 night and ended up staying a lot longer. The cottages are incredibly comfortable, spacious, spotless, thoughtfully decorated and well kitted out in all rooms - the electric blankets, log fires, hot tub and freshly baked bread were amazing! There is plenty of space for the family, friends and furbabies. The setting is pretty spectacular - what a beautiful part of the world - and there are plenty of things to do within the property including fishing, hiking and birdwatching. Take the time to find the cranes, they're beautiful! A very big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our stay so special. Deborah, in particular, was fantastic and really saved the day, I cannot speak highly enough of her and everything she has done for us - it is so encouraging to know that there are such kind people in this world, who will drop everything to come and rescue complete strangers. Do yourself a favour and book one of the cottages, it is 100% worth it!!

The Bunker is set in Champagne Valley and offers barbecue facilities and a terrace. This holiday home has a garden and free private parking. Super convenient location and incredibly private. Wonderful views of the mountains. Unit is exceptionally spacious and excellent value for the money. We are already recommending The Bunker to our friends for any trips they may be considering to Drakensberg. Jo is very thoughtful and communication was excellent in all respects. Would book again without hesitation.

Offering a garden and garden view, Thyme Out Weltevreden Farm is situated in Curryʼs Post, 13 km from Bosch Hoek Golf Club and 22 km from Karkloof Nature Reserve. Thyme Out is a true gem! The self-catering loft rooms are cozy, comfortable, and immaculately decorated. The staff is very friendly and obliging and they have the sweetest dogs who politely come to visit you now and then. The location and the views that come with it are to die for! Secluded enough that Thyme Out feels like a true getaway but close enough to Howick and the local restaurants and craft markets that there is plenty to keep you busy with. I will definitely be booking Thyme Out for future escapes to the Midlands.

Featuring lake views, Forty Winks features accommodation with balcony, around 29 km from Drakensberg Reserve. With river views, this accommodation offers a patio. A spacious cottage with everything that you could need to be able to enjoy your stay. Firewood was provided and the fire was set ready to be lit. Peter even provided us with fresh milk and eggs. The kitchen is well-equipped and the cottage has an amazing view down to the valley.

Set in Champagne Valley, 2.1 km from Monks Cowl Country Club, Ama Casa Cottages offers accommodation with an infinity pool, free private parking, an open-air bath and a garden. Amazing view, both from the room and the hot tub. The unit is spacious and great for self catering as it already has the essentials - even a dishwasher. Close to a lot of tourist attractions. Awesome hosts.

Featuring inner courtyard views, Penwarn Farm Lodge offers accommodation with patio, around 26 km from Himeville Museum. The Penwarn manor was a wonderful, clean 16 sleeper self-catering house for a family stay in scenic Underberg.

Otters Den offers accommodation in Nottingham Road. The accommodation features a spa bath. Flyfishing is 10 km from the property. Free private parking is available on site. Very clean, great view, loved the extra detail with flowers on the bed and next to the cups. They go the extra mile for you with this service.

Beverley Country Cottages is set in Dargle within the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, 50 km from Pietermaritzburg. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Lovely large room in old farm house with great bathroom. Tons of atmosphere with beautiful farm surroundings. Were served a delcious homecooked dinner and breakfast in front of the fireplace by very friendly and profocient staff. Highly recommended.
