It is located in a peaceful village, 12 mins walk to the train, just around the corner there is the Karlštejn castle. The breakfast is a privilege, cause there is not much shops around. Room is clean, well designed, even though our room is not big.

Location was in the middle of the small village with restaurants and tourist stores within steps away. Restaurant in the hotel was convenient along with a good breakfast. Their restaurant had a daily menu along with standard menu. Very good and reasonable. Bed was so comfortable. Coffee maker in room, good cable tv with news channels in English. Oh ,yes. Staff spoke English. It was very quiet. Never heard anyone up where the rooms were. Stairs only to the rooms. Breakfast was plentiful. You could get cooked eggs freshly made to order. I would definitely return.

Nadia was an amazing hostess! The apartment was nice, clean and comfortable and the house was surrounded by a lovely garden and views over the hills. We felt very welcome, she even brought us some fruit from her own garden! Would recommend it to anyone.

Castle is absolute must.
Castle is absolute must. It is breathtaking (both views and stairs). Tour is 3 times to fast, but on the other hand, for a architecture/history nerd (like me) 4 hours would still be not be enough. Tourists didn't yet trample every corner of this medieval town, so you can enjoy cold beer and tasty goulash in peace.MarcinPoland - 10Scored 10
Karlstejn is a relaxing and friendly town just 40 minutes...
Karlstejn is a relaxing and friendly town just 40 minutes train ride away from Pragues main railway station! Train tickets cost roughly 8 dollars return and it is very well worth the visit for a little escape from the hustle and tourist bustle of Prague. As you make your way up through town you’ll be blown away with stunning views of the castle and transported back in time to a romantic medieval era of knights, kings and queens! My partner and I are well in our 30’s but we still purchased 2 wooden swords and made our way through town pretending we were on the hunt for a friendly dragon! hahaha! There are also many hiking trails near by so pack a lunch and explore! A true Czech experience!

This pretty little village reminds me of an Alpes ski resort. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly people and great places to eat at very affordable rates. The castle and the surrounding nature parks make for great hikes. It is only 30 minutes by local train from here to Prague.

We felt very comfortable, the communication with the property manager was easy and all our needs were met. It is a great place to stay in Karlstejn - everything is near and in the evening, you are just few steps away from awesome bistro Karlstejn34 (where we had breakfasts, lunches and dinners - because we liked it there the most). Definitely we will stay again.

We rented two apartments: a two bed apartment with a great walk-in rain shower, as well as a try red bed unit with a traditional shower. Both units had kitchenettes which were handy for cooking a simple meal.
