To me, top priority wherever I stay is cleanliness, then comfort and service. The Modernist ticks all the boxes. Such a pleasant stay. Lovely interior (modern and sleek), great location, fantastic staff, super-clean. I loved my "M"-sized room that came with a cute balcony (and a nice view, at that). Truly enjoyable stay. I highly recommend The Modernist and would absolutely stay there again.

Think of the hotel as being in the narrow streets of Nisantasi, Istanbul, in a very elite neighbourhood, in a very central and beautiful place in an area with luxury restaurants and famous brands. The rooms were really well furnished and spotlessly clean. But none of this was as good as the incredibly lovely, positive, helpful lady who served breakfast. She was such a sweet lady that I am so sorry I didn't learn her name. I would like to thank her for her Greek hospitality. I didn't know whether to tell you about her smiling face or the way she prepared coffee cake toast fruit etc in a box for us because we couldn't make it to breakfast on the last day. It is women's day and I sincerely congratulate her labourer women's day. Whenever we come to Athens, our place is certain.

When asked for a suggestion for dinner, the place they recommended was excellent, and we would never have found it without their suggestion. The breakfast was amazing, a la carte, with numerous options, almost too many! They held our bags after checkout and made available a toilet/change room for us to change our clothes, before heading to the airport for our late night flight. Location was great, close to Metro, and a walk to the Acropolis, etc. Would highly recommend a stay. Mike
