Attractively situated in Kyoto, THE GENERAL KYOTO Shijou Shinmachi features an American breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk.... The hotel is not a large hotel but it is huge in service levels and provisions. What we liked about the room is that it has everything that any traveller would need - good toiletries, fluffy towels, a range of Japanese teas to be introduced to us with a very thoughtful note on it's respective preparation methods. The bathroom and toilet provisions are top-notched. You'd have thought you were in a five-star hotel bathroom. In terms of space and size of room, of course, don't expect five-star space, but The General's room is comfortable, two single sofas, tv with US-CNN and the local Japanese channels. You can play your own Spotify music through the JBL bluetooth speaker with rich room-filling music. Situated two stops from Kyoto main station, it is just the right place for us. Not too busy/noisy and near enough to access all the important parts of our itinerary via the rail and bus networks. And to top is off, there is access to th executive lounge with afternoon teas and evening cocktails and drinks (including wines, beers, whiskey) and various japanese bites, snacks and cocktail nuts.

Best possible location in terms of both sightseeing and quick access to metro/train stations, excellent room with enough space, excellent breakfast, and very helpful staff.

What a delightful, cozy, warm hotel with such friendly staff. Every moment of our stay (on honeymoon) was perfect. The hotel is in a peaceful, quaint location where we felt like locals. The staff were so helpful and pleasant, and the complimentary drinks in the lounge every evening were such a sweet bonus! We can't wait to come back! :)

In a prime location in the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, Hotel GOCO stay Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi is set 1.2 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, 1.3 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto and 1.4 km... I stayed in the double bed room. Compact but functional, clean, with a washing machine and detergent. The staff were so helpful and gave us extra blankets and a cutting knife to borrow when we needed it. I saw them helping another group search for nearby restaurants. There's a free water dispenser downstairs and they give you a glass pitcher to keep in your fridge. Free coffee and tea too. Location is very convenient but also tucked away in a side street so it wasn't noisy at all. There is a terrace on the 5th floor with tables and umbrellas. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in central Kyoto near Kyoto Kawaramachi station.

Bedroom facilities were excellent with spacious and modern layout. Seperate toilet room to bathroom and spacious sitting room / dining area. Breakfast served to room every morning at a time of your choosing.

Well set in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, Saju Kyoto 茶住 京都 is located 600 metres from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, 1.6 km from Kyoto International Manga Museum and 1.9 km from Samurai... We had a pleasant stay at the Saju Kyoto Hotel! We were welcomed with Matcha tea and delicious cookies. In general, the people were so nice and welcoming. We loved the more „traditional“ experience and had actually a good sleep there! We would definitely come again.

Set in the Nakagyo Ward district in Kyoto, Rinn Shijo Nishinotoin offers 3-star rooms with free WiFi. Location, room quality, comfort - everything was great. Small cafe, bakery and restaurants positioned conveniently nearby the hotel. The Quadruple room was spacious, and nice layout. Reception was very attentive. Amenities are the usual 'take what you need'. Ideal place to stay around Kyoto for several days.
