Oh, it’s completely modern, with individual ac and good showers alright. But it seems like something out of a movie, an eccentric independent comedy when life was good and there was a kind of innocent charm despite the cool modernist vibe. The two desk managers spoke fluent English and were both effective and charming in dealing with my several offbeat issues. The place was full of couples who seemed to be there for a day or two (Not hours!) to have a fun few days, most of them Asian and the odd Westerner who seemed much less fun than the former. I felt right at home with the large Turkish population (great food) and occasional girl gang, right at home with working class surroundings, and Itaewon is full of local service workers. There’s smoking and drinking on a few corners, lots of lovely pig restaurants, pet dogs from Pomeranians to Great Pyrenees, I even saw a laid back Border Collie. I like busses over subways and lots were nearby. Fast food joints, tourist junk shops, Trans bars and a tailor and coffee houses. KFC, McDonald’s, Subway. A convenience store on every corner. There’s even a grocer a few blocks away where you will see… fruit!

The room is very large, able to unfold large suitcases. The view is very beautiful. You can see the Han River from the window at the end of the bed. and saw Seoul Tower from the window next to the bed. The staff provided very good service. Nasz pokój znajdował się na jednym z ostatnich pięter. Poza wygodnym łóżkiem i pojemną szafą mieliśmy łazienkę wyposażoną w prysznic oraz ogromną dwu osobową wannę. Z pokoju rozprzestrzeniał się widok na trzy strony świata. Jest to niesamowite doświadczenie, zwłaszcza nocą gdy cały Seoul jest rozświetlony.
