Glamping Wilpattu by Thamaravila se encuentra en Wilpattu, a 34 km de Kumbichchan Kulama Tank y a 34 km de Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Priya and his team couldn’t do enough for us and was so attentive with utmost understanding and kindness to our 22month old daughter. The food was fine dining at its best and kept making the chicken soup my daughter couldn’t get enough of. Priya’s knowledge of the wildlife in the park was great and again focusing on wildlife our daughter could see.

The resort owner was especially hilarious, friendly and kind, which really added to our amazinga. The free breakfast was very nice, and the dinner was delicious.. Free coffee, tea and water too.

The tent offers a private entrance, a tea and coffee maker, a terrace with lake views as well as a private bathroom featuring a shower. The unit offers 2 beds. Probablemente el mejor alojamiento de todo Sri Lanka. Si estáis pensando en hacer un safari por Wilpattu, tenéis que dormir aquí si o si. Se encuentra a escasos 10 minutos del parque, y el safari que te organizan de día completo no puede ser mejor. Tienen un gran conocimiento de la fauna del país y su comportamiento, con lo que las probabilidades de ver al leopardo o al oso bezudo son enormes. Nosotros vimos a ambos, desde muy cerca, seguro que nos acompañó la suerte, pero la experiencia del guía también. En el alojamiento en sí pasamos grandes momentos, la habitación muy cómoda, la comida buenísima, y lo mejor de todo, la atención de Inu que fué excepcional. Nos llevamos para siempre la charla alrededor de la hoguera y su eterna sonrisa. Mil Gracias!!

The fireplace is the standout feature of this tent. The tent features a washing machine, a private entrance, as well as a private bathroom boasting a walk-in shower and a bath. Wilpattu Green Cabin is a small and friendly family-run establishment in the countryside near Eluwankulama. It is accessible by tuk tuk from the Elwulankulama bus stop. The drivers will know where to go. (It’s about 5 minutes away.) Wilpattu Green Cabin is located right on the Lunu Ela River (I think that is the name) and is a lovely and relaxing spot to take a break. They have two new bungalows with a fan, mosquito nets and veranda that face the river and are spacious, clean and comfy. They also have one room referred to as “the treehouse“ which was entirely crafted out of sustainable “green“ materials. It is more cozy than the bungalows but it is super adorable and has a wonderful vibe. Be prepared to climb a ladder! It costs a little bit more than the bungalows but worth it! They also have a couple air con rooms that are kind of dark and do not face the river in case you absolutely need your AC. You will probably want to purchase lunch and/or dinner at Green Cabin since there is no other easy option but no worries, the meals are tasty and filling. Breakfast was included. The establishment is run by a friendly fellow named Riswan, his brother, sister-in-law and others. Riswan will arrange a Jeep safari to Wilppatu National Park if you like. You can also take a long pole boat ride up the river to look for birds. I did both the Jeep safari and the long pole boat ride and thoroughly enjoyed them. Of note: there is an elephant that sometimes swims the river and sneaks into the adjacent rice paddy for a midnight snack! I would definitely book another stay at Wilpattu Green Cabin, especially in the treehouse!

Just the place to get away from it all. We ended our 2 week trip here and it was the perfect R&R. Spent our last day on the water with the Dolphins.

La habitación consiste en una tienda con tres espacios separados: sala de estar, habitación y baño. Muy bonita y confortable con puntos de luz tenue. Imprescindible la cena alrededor de la hoguera. Experiencia mágica con un menú de alta calidad. Somos veganos y nos adaptaron los platos a nuestra preferencia sin ningún inconveniente. Tras la cena, de forma gratuita, realizan una pequeña excursión con guía por los alrededores del hotel donde se pueden observar pequeños animales.
