At night, we could hear the hippos grazing directly by our tent! 😁 One day we got totally stuck in the deep sand at Mudumu NP and, fortunately were able to call the lodge for help. They were able to locate us after a while and pulled us out! Thanks again for that! ☺️

Guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator and kitchenware in the kitchenette. The tent also features a barbecue. Beautiful lodge elevated above the Kwando River. You can spot hippos, impalas and a lot of birds while eating or relaxing on the big terrace. The tent was fully equipped with all you could wish for. We highly recommend the camping dinners you can order from reception for a nice evening at the fire watching the hippos in the water at the end of your garden. And a must-do is the 2h sunset cruise!

Shametu lodge review The views from the lodges on the riverside were spectacular.The lodges were comfortable and touches such as the mosquito nets, the hot water bottles and chocolates on the beds was a really lovely touch. It was a brilliant location-very close to the National parks. We would highly recommend the sunset cruise. The guide was excellent and again the attention to detail to ensure a truly pleasurable experience was exceptional. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was ever too much!

This room has power points, bedside lamps, a fan and mosquito nets. It has a bathroom area with an open-air hot-water shower and towels. It also has tea and coffee making facilities and a desk. Very nice and calm location, 30 km outside the city. The owner of the lodge was very friendly. The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful as they helped us organise our activities. The rooms were very comfortable and had a beautiful view as well. I highly recommend!

Each on stilts with en-suite bathroom facilities (shower only) strategically placed for privacy with a deck overlooking the water channel. The staff were great very friendly and helpful. The area is incredibly beautiful, the boat cruise is a must we saw game buffalo, hippo and lions . The nice thing is the park is not crowded and you are always alone when viewing the wild animals.
