Breakfast was excellent and honestly why we chose Portman Lodge. My husband wanted to experience an English Breakfast. Neal was super helpful and friendly. The room was much nicer, comfortable and more modern than expected.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would have been happy to extend it given the opportunity. The room was clean spacious and comfortable and given that they are built around the courtyard it felt as if we had our own patio outside. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the food was well presented and delicious. The location in a peaceful country hamlet between Blandford and Wimbourne was perfect for a relaxing break and very dog friendly. An absolute gem.

Immaculate, spacious & well equipped. Very comfortable bed. Host is friendly, informative & entertaining. A quirky set up entering through an operating barber shop & manoeuvring steep narrow stairs but so worth it.

Great location, the pub stands out as the landmark in the village, tastefully presented with a secluded back garden that is beautiful as it is functional! The hotel entrance is separate from the pub, and the room I stayed in was spacious, clean and well stocked with coffee/tea and a fridge, and a “village shop” located below meant you could purchase anything you may have forgotten to bring! The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and instantly made me feel relaxed! I enjoyed my one night there, but I will definitely return!
