I stayed with my boyfriend in Polaris during our trip to eastern Hokkaido. The pension is located in one area with amazing nature, close to  Lake Mashu and Lake Kussharo. The owners are very friendly and made us feel at home. They are very passionate about what they are doing and the pension is really cared of in every detail. They also gave us precise indications about famous and less known sightseeing destinations nearby. There were also two wonderful cats, they did not disturb and they were really a great company. We were able to see a starry sky with the owner's telescope and the owner took us a great photo with professional equipment. The dinner and the breakfast were also excellent and with many fresh local products. I would highly recommend Polaris and I would definitely go again.

This is an amazingly beautiful hotel. The owner’s concept is so unique - each room is crafted with care. My room was extraordinary! The onsen baths are so comfortable, and it was lovely exploring the property. I loved the bonfire! The hospitality of the owner was above and beyond - he was so kind to me and made my trip an unforgettable one! Definitely check this place out!

The hostel is really well maintained and clean including the shared bathroom (one of the best i had in an hostel), the owner is really nice and helpful. I didn't use the kitchen but it seemed very comfortable and clean to use.

Suzuki and his wife were really accommodating picking us up from the train station and even lent us a bicycle and fishing rod each so that we could explore teshikaga and the nearby lakes and mountains, great service can't wait to come back 👍
