The St. Leonards Guest House

Shanklin

Based in the heart of the popular seaside resort of Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, The St. Leonards Guest House offers free on-site parking, free Wi-Fi access and a bar. A haven for walkers and cyclists, more than half the island is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The perfect place to rest. Peaceful, clean, has everything you need. Great location 5 min walk from the centre and the sea. I escaped the business in London to relax a bit, and this place really helped me to do so. The owner is very kind and tried to meet all my needs. You also have included a nice breakfast with different options. I went for the English breakfast and was freshly prepared at the moment. The single room on the top had a lovely compfy bed, a nice and clean bathroom, and 2 windows which is not obvious for smaller rooms like a single. There is also outside space where you can relax, have a drink. I am really happy with the whole experience, will come back. Shanklin is a beautiful town, and you can easily go anywhere from there with buses if you don't have a car like me. One of the bus stops (the coaster) it is just in front of the guest house.

Enchanted Manor

Niton

The Enchanted Manor is a family-run bed and breakfast on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.

Breakfast is served in the Greenhouse overlooking our beautiful and quaint garden, home to the badgers, foxes, birds and red squirrels. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Enchanted Manor. The hotel was lovely, and the customer service and friendliness from the hotel owner Peta and her staff was second to none. The food was divine - it was a vegetarian menu, and though my husband and I do eat meat at home, we certainly didn't miss it during our stay. The garlic mushrooms on toast for breakfast was a particular highlight! Peta in particuarly was extrememely knowledgable about the Isle and gave lots of good tips and suggested places to visit when we asked - as newcomers to the Isle of Wight we were extremely grateful. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and accomodating, and there were little touches everywhere of just small things to make your stay more comfortable - from DVDs to borrow, to a little fridge in the room to store bottled water and milk for your morning tea, as well as thoughtful bathroom additions. Our booked room was upgraded on arrival to a suite as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the team thoughtfully gave us a bottle of sparkling wine and a card as well. There was one small issue during our stay - the boiler stopped working properly a few days in to our stay, which led to occaisionally not getting baths or showers when we wanted. However the team tried to resolve as best they could until someone could fix it so we always did manage to get to shower - and they gave us a lovely gift at the end of our holiday to apologise for the hot water issue.
