Only a 3-minute walk from JR Aso Train Station, Aso Base Backpackers offers affordable accommodation with free Wi-Fi. Guests can use the free parking on-site. Aso Shrine is a 10-minute drive away. A few minutes walk to Aso station with a couple of eateries around. The place was really clean and well maintained. Highly recommend!

The old Japanese house was warm and homey and the hosts were kind and welcoming. Two cats were a bonus. Dinner at the Thai restaurant was exceptional and highly recommended! I would be back anytime and ideally would stay for longer!

The atmosphere, materials, and lighting is very beautiful. We got very warmly welcomed and it was a pleasure to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the main floor restaurant. We definitely recommend it to spend some calm relaxing days! They also provide bicycles to discover the beautiful nature around or drive to a nearby onsen place or to the sea.
