Staff was very kind and friendly, lady came to pick us up from station and dropped off as well. We wanted to go to nearest onsen so she took us by car there as well. They gave us tea with snacks when we checked in. Futon beds were very comfortable and clean and smelled so good and fresh. Rooms and facilities were extremely clean. Before booking I was sceptical because of it being guesthouse but after stay I realized it worth staying. Also they are keeping price quite low even though service is high quality. I will come to stay again.

The dorm was under construction so they let me stay in a private double room and it was a beautiful Japanese style one, with tatami and a Mt Fuji paint. The hostel was in lo-fi style, very cool common aerea with low music. The kitchen was well equipped. The reception was at the beautiful café, vintage style where some days you could have dinner as well. I had some fried potatoes with egg and cheese and it was good. The staff was very friendly and available to give suggestions about places to see and where to eat, and they could speak a good English. The hostel was close to both bus and train station.

International Inn KOKAGE ligger i centrum af Beppu og er et gammelt hotel, men tilbyder rene og enkle værelser i japansk stil. Der tilbydes gratis WiFi overalt på ejendommen. The lady running the inn is simply adorable. It felt like being at grandma's house and made me nostalgic. The ofuro is amazing and super relaxing. The room was quite big, and it is really a time machine back to the showa era. Also is super conveniently located, close to the station and many stores and restaurants. Wish I could have stayed for a longer time.

日本旅館 松亀荘 is located in Beppu, within 20 km of Oita Bank Dome and 12 km of Oita Station. The property is around 23 km from Kinrinko Lake, 2.4 km from B-Con Plaza and 2.6 km from Beppu Park. Location was great and room was very comfy. We love the Japanese style ryokan. The facility also has its own onsen and laundromat machines so everything was quite convenient.
