A traditional Maltese home in the heart of the charming capital of Gozo, for a very unique stay! This stylishly finished home comprises 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a shower each, a living room with TV, a well-lit dining room, a sweet little fully-equipped kitchen, and a central courtyard separating the house, thus allowing the back bedroom+bathroom to form a private unit. The house is a historic building of original design. The restoration focused on facilitating all modern amenities, yet still preserving the character, and charme of a Maltese traditional townhouse. In the mission to contribute to celebrating the magical beauty of Gozo, we seek to embrace the traditional way of living on the island by keeping original features, and furniture. What might be beyond, you kind of naturally intuit when gazing at the enchanting entrance doors and balconies in all these tasteful, delicate colour palettes, elaborate ornamentations, and good amounts of genuine, mellow patina. Whereas most tourists are left with their imagination and guesswork while strolling through the historic centers, you get a chance to open that beautiful green door, have a look inside, and even better - call it your home during your stay on Gozo. :) Behind the walls (and in fact, the walls themselves) are indeed treasures that merit landmark status, and should in our opinion always be protected and preserved by heritage conservation. In all rooms you will find the historic Maltese stone flooring that was constructed in a 300-years-old, very complex pouring process, each tile individually handmade, to create lovely patterns in a big range of variety. The warm-colored limestone is one of the most defining features of the Maltese Islands. With the oldest free-standing temples in the world, history was etched in limestone, and of course it is the material the big slabs of our houses are constructed of. Paired with the abundance of sunshine, it tints our lives here with a soft golden glow.

Back when we lived the van-life, some kind of magic always pulled us back to Gozo. That's how we found the home of our hearts. <3 I'm a mother to three wonderful children. My family, and my friends mean the world to me, and I like to give every new 'Hello' the chance to be a meaningful encounter. Staying in Victoria makes it very easy to plan exploring the whole island, as the central bus station (with routes to all destinations) is only 5 minutes away. The property is in a peaceful residential street, right next to the main historic street, and the iconic Citadel. To visit the Citadel city, message me for details to the shortcut, avoiding the crowded and more distant main entrance. It's close to Greens supermarket, many stores of all kinds, churches, and piazzas with the best restaurants/cafés, and the picturesque old city center. Our house is a ground-floor, one-level house with all rooms for your private use. No stairs to be climbed, but some door steps between rooms. There is an outdoor staircase in the courtyard leading to the maintainance area, and to the roof, which is not part of the holiday space at the moment, but it is part of our private property, and nobody else will pass from there, so the courtyard is a safe space. All Gozo is very safe in general, as you will learn here. :) As an old tradition/habit, a lot of people leave the keys to their cars in the ignition if they hop into shops, for others to re-arrange if needed, or elderly folks often leave the key on the door of the house, so friends and family can enter. It demonstrates the natural serenity, and confidence in community on the island. For more peace of mind, an exterior security camera monitors the main entrance door (and only the door on the outside). Recording is connected to motion detection, and will be reviewed upon alarm only. If you are staying more than 6 days, you may use the washing machine upstairs on request. It's a family-friendly house, and I will adjust the spaces according to the age of your child/children. For babies/toddlers, providing high chair, travel cot, bedding, play area, toys, bath supplies, hood towels, nursing pillow, changing mat, toilet seat/potty, and use of washing machine (even if your stay is shorter than 7 days) is inclusive on request.
