Worth a visit to see the Steam Clock in action, lovely shops and nice to stroll around. There are quite a number of homeless people in this area and we were advised by our tour guide which streets (area) to avoid and to stay together. Main street was fine and lots of people around.

The main downtown area was easy to reach from this location, and we enjoyed several trips to the sites there, including the Art Gallery and Gastown. On a very sunny day, this hotel allowed easy access to the sea and sky highway to Squamish, where we enjoyed Shannon Falls and the Gondola lift.

The rooms have a very comfy vibe with the hardwooden floors and partly antique furniture. I didn't mind at all that my room had a shared bathroom. The bathrooms on the floor were very large, clean. I actually preferred it this way to having my own tiny bathroom. The staff is very friendly and accomodating with an excellent eye for detail. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I return to beautiful Vancouver.

Our room was ready early which was a great bonus after a very long flight. It was a gorgeous big room with nice bathroom, it felt very new. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The artwork throughout the lodge is amazing. Beds were quite comfortable. The upstairs sauna was a perfect way to end the day. We will definitely stay there again when in Vancouver. The area around the hotel does have a lot of homeless, but not threatening. Hotel is on the edge of Chinatown and Gastown.
