Beautiful place, but VERY hard to get to !!!

Beautiful place, but VERY hard to get to !!! 25km took 2 hours between Lanquin and Atitlan. Very bump.. the roads are better later. If they were improved, tourist dollars would flow. Lack of good comfortable hotels (no wifi, and in our case with kids, no electricity!!). But the pools are fantastic.

This is a fairly large hotel/hostel in a beautiful location just 15 minutes walk from the entrance of Semuc Champey (don't believe Google Maps!) Staff was great, very helpful with any needed arrangements. Food and drink was of good quality, atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Lots of appealing chill spaces to lounge in. Our private room and shared baths were clean and comfortable.

Great hotel/hostel with amazing (and reasonable priced) food and very friendly/helpful staff! It was easy to organise a tour to Semuc Champey with them as well as the shuttle to any other place. They also have a complementary pick up from the bus station.

The location. The hotel itself is small but in a good location. Our front desk agent was very helpful in arranging transportation to Semuc Champey.

Friendly staff that helped us with booking shuttles. The offered semuc champey tour was also great. Transportation from and to the hotel was flawless. Breakfast was decent.

The location is amazing, only a ten minute walk from Semuc Champey, and on the bank of the river. The food is also very good! For its price, this hostel was great!

The property is in a beautiful location right on the river. it’s a two minute walk to the entrance of Semuc Champey so there’s no need to shuttle from Lanquin in the morning. Also since Semuc Champey is so close to hostel you can beat the crowds to the park and get an hour or two pretty much by yourself.

Nice place out on the road to Semuc Champey, they will come pick you up at the car park where the shuttle buses stop in Lanquin(people from all the hostels and hotels are waiting there to pick up their guests). About a 40 minute steep walk down (then back up) from Semuc Champey, don't worry if you don't want to walk back, there's plenty of vehicles there to give you a lift. Friendly staff and pretty decent food available. They can also book your onwards shuttle here.

We loved our private bungalow, overlooking the jungle and serene landscape! Though the hotel is in Lanquin, not Semuc Champey, we found it much better to simply do a one-day Semuc tour (which we booked with the hotel, and it was amazing!) and spend the rest of the time enjoying the hotel and, when needed, go to Lanquin for food. The pool was surprisingly warm, and the bar stool area was perfect for some day time drinks :)
