With natural stone walls and high thatched roofs, these private bungalows are on the coast of the Caribbean Ocean. The property features a yoga studio and a full-service spa. Our favorite stay in the DR by far! Property is gorgeous and the staff and guests are both laid back and friendly. Spring for a massage as they are affordable and excellent. Food was great with many options for varied diets. I don’t drink alcohol and really appreciated the delicious mocktail menu. We are a married couple traveling without our kids, but the facility is child- and baby-friendly and all children we saw there were remarkably well-behaved. Our cabana was gorgeous with a great mattress. We loved lazing on the porch with its comfy hammock. We didn’t spend time at the pool with the ocean right there, but it was clean and a comfortable temperature. The property arranged multiple drivers for us, and they were extremely punctual (even in the very early morning) and well worth the cost. Maximo drove us to the waterfalls and dropped us at our next hotel in Puerto Plata afterward, and he was great. Highly recommend!

Activities that can be enjoyed in the surroundings, include cycling, horse riding and fishing. The property offers free parking. We love this cosy retreat on the ocean. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The pool and grounds are really well taken care of. And the restaurant is excellent if you don’t feel like walking to a beach location. A bonus is that the main beach of Cabarete doesn’t extend this far, so it feels very private. We either walked or ran the beach every morning and it was a 5 min walk to get there.

The Eco Lodge is amazing. If you, like me, prefer to travel consciously and authentically this place is all that! Local and kind staff. Waking up and being able to hear the ever changing sea before even opening your eyes is truly wonderful. There's a chill island vibe at the spot - doesn't really feel like a hotel - and I mean that in the best way possible. I definitely felt recharged after our stay there and it was our favourite place out of 4 in the DR. Cabarete is a nice town 10 min/600 pesos away (Sosua too). If you plan on exploring the area, it's probably better to rent a motorcycle. There are other tourists, but not to an extend where the town loses its identity. All in all we really loved it.
