The Mason Arms is located on Devon’s Jurassic Coast, just a 10-minute walk from Branscombe Beach. Our 10/10 stay at this place started the night we arrived. After a somewhat harrowing drive in the dark/rain/fog down a tiny road we were exhausted. The lovely man (Dan who it turns out was just filling in but did a bang up job) at the check in just took us straight to our (out of this world) room and said "Check in in the morning, no problem" and handed us a pot of cream (... this is for your coffee/tea). The room itself was huge and gorgeous with a full sitting room area, mini kitchen and a giant king sized bed that was so comfortable I would still be there if I could. The bathroom had a great shower and a giant bath tub. We stumbled across to the pub and (although it was past kitchen closing) the chef made us a lovely salmon dinner. Things just got better from there - gorgeous full breakfasts, lovely dinners, kind and caring staff EVERYWHERE. The town is tiny but stunning with plenty of interesting historical buildings and great hikes both around the area and over to the next town (charmingly called Beer). Thank you to Dan, Sophie, Connor and Hannah for making our stay so incredibly special.

The George was perfect in every way. The staff were very attentive, the room was immaculate and the whole hotel is beautiful. I loved the Christmas decorations as they were very tasteful. I loved that they lit a fire in the evening. I thank the staff for their attentive, professional, humble way of looking after me. I will definitely be coming back.

Hotel was stunning and also views would have been if it were not for the rain and we arrived when it was dark. Hope to stay longer next time to explore properly.

Ilfracombe può essere una ottima base per andare ad esplorare il Devon ed in particolare il Parco Nazionale di Exmoor, immerso nel verde e negli immancabili fiori che in questa regione riempiono ogni angolo di mille colori. Scogliere a picco sul mare, prati sconfinati, brughiera, greggi al pascolo, boschi intricati, siepi squadrate, panorami mozzafiato... Non manca nulla per immergersi in un angolo di Inghilterra veramente caratteristico e che permette di entrare in contatto con una delle tante sfaccettature della "vera vita inglese". Consigliabile anche fare una gita in battello con una delle numerose compagnie che, partendo dal porto del paese, vi conducono alla scoperta della scogliera a picco sul mare che incomincia dal porto, in direzione di Bristol. Per mangiare non c'è che l'imbarazzo della scelta: in ogni locale dove sono stato ho trovato cibo ottimo e prezzi normali e accettabili. Consigliabile andarci con vettura a nolo o di proprietà, giusto per maggiore comodità. Mezzi pubblici, frequenti e di ottima qualità, collegano Ilfracombe con i maggiori centri nelle vicinanze, ma per andare alla scoperta del Parco è fondamentale avere un mezzo proprio.

Il posto è molto bello soprattutto nella parte vecchia del borgo di pescatori. Per il resto è una città turistica che assomiglia alle nostre della riviera romagnola. ma le rocce rosse le trovi solo a Torquay e nel Devon

Il Devonshire è davvero stupendo: meriterebbe un soggiorno molto più lungo per poter visitare anche i dintorni. In pieno inverno era suggestivo, ma credo che in estate sia ancor più bello.

Abbiamo scelto Exeter perché strategica per iniziare la visita del Devon e della Cornivaglia: è ben collegata con i treni dall'aeroporto di Bristol e permette di avvicinaRai alle località di mare famose come Torquay e Looe. Da Exeter ci sono anche i bus per raggiungere la Brughiera del Dartmoor.

situato in pieno centro a Lynton, si tratta di un hotel antico in stile vittoriano, con parcheggio a pagamento, che offre una vista sensazionale sulla baita. Lynton è un paese delizioso a pochi passi dalla Valley of Rocks, scogliere verdissime sul mare nel parco nazionale di Exmoore, nell'alto Devon. mi ha colpito la gentilezza dei proprietari, l'abbondante colazione all'inglese ed europea, il prezzo ottimo

Amazing hotel with great spa. The heated outdoor pool and sauna are lovely. The rooms are super new and comfy - loved the slippers and bath robe. We only got to stay for a night but it felt really relaxing. The breakfast was delicious. And the staff was absolutely amazing and lovely. The little sea side village is very cute. Would definitely come back

Reception staff were excellent as was the lady who served the breakfast which was lovely the gym man not so polite he was rather rude to my partner and also not very welcoming to me either. Room was excellent and great value and the facilities were good. The grounds and gardens were beautiful.
