The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. It was clean and accessible. The facilities were very fun to use and the choices of activities were great for the kids. The staff are friendly and the view from our room was amazing.

Located in Nara and with Nara Station reachable within 800 metres, 奈良旅館別館 Sweet 螢 源 provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a restaurant. This property was absolutely the highlight of our stay. It was a modern style, spacious and comfortable. The outdoor bath and garden were beautiful. We loved this room so much we picked up food, ate in and just relaxed for the evening. If you are staying in Nara book the Double or Twin Room with Private External Bathroom. As a bonus its only a 5 minute walk from the train/bus station. Wish we stayed longer here.

Upon hearing that we were heading to a nearby ryokan, our host offered to drive us over for free (and refused the cash we pulled out of our wallets multiple times). The food was amazing as well!

The history of the house, the building, the room, wonderful staff, hospitality and warm welcome and magnificent garden. The breakfast was delicious. The staff recommended very good places for dinner. We absolutely loved the stay.

The hotel itself does not provide everything as one-stop service as another, you have to wander around the town to find the things you are looking for (sometime over your expectation). I was so enjoyed staying there and also the time to talk with the locals (but you may need to have some Japanese communication skill, or even you cannot, I am certainly sure that they will somehow communicate with you with their best). You must try Sento, the public available for free to their guest staying there.

We had blowfish meal on the first night and it’s fantastic. Every dish is made with quality ingredients and mixed magically in harmony. Breakfast is also excellent. Very well made. Osen bathtub is perfect. Roomy and relaxing. Shower gel etc are good quality. Room is big and well designed. Bed is comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. Easy access to temple and deer park.

Special shout out to the service: we felt so welcome whilst we were staying there, and when we left (and left something really important behind!) the hotel staff moved heaven and earth to get it back to us.
