Overlooking the Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles, all tents at Fairmont Mara have a private veranda. Game drives, an outdoor heated pool with bar, and massage tents are provided. Everything is simply fantastic. The full board is amazing and the menu changes daily. The included safari drives roam the famous Lemek Conservancy, ultra rich in wildlife including the big 5 (which we got). This is the best hotel in Narok Town. The room was super comforting and impeccably clean. What really stood out though was the high quality of the service. On top of all of this is that the price is a real bargain.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were various and with a high quality of ingredients.
Fig Tree Camp is a dream come true. It is the perfect backdrop and starting point for an authentic safari experience. From the hippo-filled river to the Maasai staff and the monkeys on the tree hut terrace. Our safari guide, Jonathan, was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to show us the Big Five and countless other wonderful creatures. Peter, the guard, made sure our tent was safe from crocodiles and pointed out visiting wildlife. Moses, the room butler, not only made sure our tent was comfortable, but also that we could take a hot shower in the afternoon. The restaurant and bar served very tasty food and drinks with many healthy options, and the pool was a bonus for the kids. It is a beautifully situated camp that is conveniently located near Keekorok airstrip as well as the Maara river. We highly recommend a stay at Fig Tree camp, it has a very special place in our memories.
It was our second visit to Mara NP, but our first time sleeping within these grounds. Waking up with a river view and having zebras or hyenas or giraffes looking right across is mesmerising. The tent was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for three persons. Esmo was assigned to take care of us at meal times and he did a wonderful job. The meals were freshly prepared and very good. It was like a set menu and there was always a vegeterian option. The Masai also made us feel safe in the evening while escorting us.
Love this camp. Right in the heart of Mara reserve. View of river is lovely. Not all rooms have view but lodge view is top. Hippos and crocodiles in river. Great sounds at night. Lovely location for exploring Mara. Staff was amazing. Great food and so nice. Hope I return one day
Everything about this spot was perfect!
so much fun to sleep in the Club tents, ours was facing the park and we could animals passing in front of our tent when going to the water point. great staff, very friendly and caring. the security guards would offer to escort us at night and share their local culture and experiences
the location is fantastic and the layout and condition of the property is excellent
This hotel completely exceeded our expectations. The hotel is 3 years old, so everything is super new. They have a very nice gym, pool, rooms ( made out completely of glass) and the installation are amazing. My highlight of this place is the service and food. A big applause to Daniel, Patrick for making our stay amazing and to Olle for being the best guide ever. Regarding food I cannot understand why there is comments saying that it is not good. This is not the case. It is very healthy, with a lot of spices and lot of options. We loved the food.
The staff was extremely kind, the place is beautiful and it’s really camping in the wild with the comfort of a bed and the safety of security staff
The property was in a good position for safari. The staff were really friendly and the food for lunch and evening meals was delicious. The experience at the hotel was really authentic and loved the rented accommodation. We were very fortunate to see monkeys by the pool.
