On a month long trip to Sri Lanka, filled with beautiful places and accommodations - the Cottage holds a special place in my heart. We spent two amazing days here, and later in our trip we decided to go back for 5 more. From the kindness of the staff, the excellent hospitality, the pool that was somehow always the right temperature, the location in nature and all of the life that surrounds it - we had a perfect stay. The gentleman that cares for the plants, pool and grounds works all day making sure the place looks great and the pool is always clean. The chef makes great food, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was excellent. The location is a short bike ride from town, or if you have your own tuktuk as we did it’s about a 5 minute ride. It’s in the midst of the jungle. In our days there we had encounters with every type of bird in Sri Lanka. Monkeys of all varieties. Even Elephants. The near by lake, which you will drive by the signed path to, is a must at sunrise. Walking further down the road into the farmers fields (stay on the road, don’t walk on their crops) will yield incredible sunsets with peacocks calling in the background and a clear view of lions rock. Bungalows are simple, clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. We will most certainly return here in the future and highly recommend it to others. There is more to see in Sigiriya than you think, and a couple of days at the cottage is a great base to explore and relax. Mama, the local dog running around is very sweet. If you’re a dog loving traveler as I am - take care of her and show her some love. She’ll keep the monkeys off your tuktuk 😉

We stayed for three nights here and the family who owns the apartments are were nice and friendly. Also the rooms are very clean and the WIFI works really good. The apartments are a bit outside, so you need to walk approx. 10 minutes to the main road but the view on the lions rock and to rice fields is really great.

A lot of good eating spots around the property within walking distance. Also if your feeling tired the Spanish srilankan fusion cuisine made in house is also recommended. The peppery manager Emanuel will make sure you’re very well taken care of.

Hidden gem - amazing little cottage hidden in the trees but still very close to Sigirya centre and al the tourist attractions. The room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. We absolutely adored the pool! The owner was fantastic and accommodated to all our needs.

Welcome to our peaceful Nature Villa, nestled just a short distance from the majestic Lion Rock, only 1 km away. We only spent one night but we appreciate it and we highly recommend this accommodation. Clean, quiet, beautiful outside, comfortable bed. Breakfast is the best we have had during our two weeks in Sri Lanka. Staff is also nice and kind. Location is good, close to the Lion Rock (walking distance).
