How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Historic area can be filthy and smelly.

Very thin walls. You hear everything. Bring earplugs. Not for light sleepers.

Over all its was good experience. I have the problem of power sockets. Only one power supply in the room for four persons. Difficult to charge the phone. I cannot use the mobile or laptop while on charging because its far from my bed.
Over all I like the location of the hostel and behaviour of the staff. They were friendly and listen carefully.

I never stayed in a hostel before, therefore my expectations were not high, Not much sleep was got as we could here people in the corridor, we hear them opening and closing doors. Room felt like a prison cell as I had room with one set of bunk beds.
Staff were friendly and courteous. Location was ideal. Easy to walk around city from this location. Room felt like a prison cell as I had room with one set of bunk beds.

Everything was okay, no issues whatsoever

Shower poor.. Pity kitchen closes early,but understand for quietness .. Would have loved a kettle and some cups for tea in bedroom.. Lockers good to have but iron ,v noisy to close,open etc..while trying to be quiet at night in shared room

The beds should have curtains as in so many other hostels.

They don't have breakfast anymore so it is bad. Bedsheets and beds aren't very clean. I suggest that you bring your own bedsheets.
It was my third time to stay in this hotel. So I know this place. Toilets were clean. Location is good and safety. They helped us to lock our baggage in the luggage room until 2am. Even you want to let it there more, it wouldn't be a problem. They have 7/24 reception.

The walls are paper thin. It's extremely loud in the night and I got no sleep. Only one wc per floor available. No cooking possibilities.
The location is great. Everything is reachable by foot. Being able to store your luggage is a very helpful addition too. Well spoken 24 hour staff.

There is only one common shared toilet on the floor i stayed. Imagine the chaos 😃 The lift was not working, i had to carry my bags after a long flight. You get towels and linen but no soap or shampoo. Environmentally they need to do more. I’m not a big supporter of toilet paper. A lot of baby trees are killed and crushed to make soft wood pulp and then make toilet paper . It’s environmentally very very bad to cut trees that are very important for everyone’s survival. Hence as an option kindly install a toilet water spray hose. Also using water keeps our private parts more clean🙏🏼👍🏼
The hostel is in downtown city centre in a maze of streets where for sure you get lost. It’s a lively place with lots of activities. The hostel is clean but still it can improve. Just basic things to survive for a day or two it’s good. There is 24 hrs reception . It’s ok to stay if the price is right . Augustina was helpful in giving me directions to walk to the bus stop and get the airport bus ( 6.75 €)
