Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

RomaniaThe soundproof / sun curtains are pretty much inexistent. We stayed at 5th floor and we could still hear the traffic with all windows closed. Also even with curtains closed the room was completely bright during the day. Most of the towels / bed sheets were stained. They were obviously clean, but it still weird to see stains on them. Also, we could not figure out when they were changed, as we found the same towels folded as if they were changed in the bathroom. This is concerning, as we do not know if the ones we left on the floor for changing were in fact replaced. Last, and the main reason for the rating drop was the late checkout. We asked from the start if we could be put on the list for a late checkout and also reminded the staff one day ahead of departure. Both times we were briefly told to come back on the day of departure. We went at 9 AM in the morning that day and the staff already had a big list of late checkouts, so there was no availability to accommodate us. I can understand the policy, but if a customer tells you from the arrival day that they’ll need a late checkout if available, it would be nice to put them on a waiting list, not just tell them to back at the earliest possible hour in the day of departure.

United KingdomThe beds were a little firmer than we would have preferred, and the soundproofing between rooms was good but not perfect.
The staff were kind and helpful and the room was comfortable. We had an issue with the shower door in our first room and they moved us to a new room, and then set the bed up as a king (as our first room had been) instead of two singles when housekeeping came round the next day without us having to ask.

The staff was great! Breakfast was very good. We want to give a shout out for our favorite person at Hotel Vincci Gala, her name is Arantzia. She was the person who made everyone welcome, brought smiles to the faces of tired travelers, learned your likes & did all to fulfill them. We didn’t learn her name but the hostess with dark curly hair in the restaurant was also very kind. Dinner menu was good & the meals served were well executed. Hotel reception staff were all helpful & eager to sort out itineraries. Thanks!

BelgiumThe wifi was not the best, but that didn’t matter as I spent most of the time out exploring the city. Furthermore, the bathroom is only separated by a thing glassdoor, which - for some - might be an issue!
The hotel staff are hands down the kindest I have ever met. Especially the staff working in the kitchen and reception were lovely. The location is perfect, the bed is huge and comfortable. Bathroom very nice as well and clean. Cute little balcony!!

GermanyIt’s such a beautiful hotel with great and creative decorations and design. It’s quite a pleasure to the eyes. The receptionist (a tall dark-blonde man) was very helpful and kind. Also the two breakfast girls were super friendly and nice. The room was very well cleaned and comfortable (really great cleaner). You can see that they all put a lot of care and love into this place. The terrace was also great with a very nice view of the city! I would definitely come back. Plus I really liked their cappuccino !

Nice hotel in very good location, close to most of Barcelona, quite calm neighborhood. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, quite spacious. Price is quite high, but it is Barcelona. Very nice view from the patio on the roof.

United KingdomWhat wasn't good was the bathroom is only a glass door so not great for privacy (both my daughter and I had food poisoning, from the markets we think not the hotel!) and the glass door meant there was absolutely no sound proofing, not ideal!
Room was smart with cool details, lovely to have a terrace to sit out on and great rooftop area too (the bar was closed whilst we were there but you could still go up and sit there and we even braved the pool on one day!). The breakfast was varied and plentiful, a mixed buffet and bespoke menu, chefs will cook you the usual avo on toast, eggs, bagels, porridge etc and lots of other options. Staff helpful and the location of the hotel is perfect for walking to the sights (or the metro is a minute away if that's your thing).
