How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The showers were awful. The water kept shutting off.

No power points near the beds. The common room didn’t feel very inviting, no set activities where you can get together with other travellers and meet people. No kitchen. The shower floors are so slippery, wear shoes.
Good location. The staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. Beds were comfortable.

We were put in a room and 5 minutes later they came back and said that we had the wrong room. We were initially moved to another room. A few hours later they said again that there was some problem with the computer and an error had occurred and they moved us to the next room. Is a bit weird.
Location absolutely amazing, walking distance from metro and local wonderful shops. Staff just incredible, so polite and helpful.

The toilets are not clean at all times. The male receptionists are not friendly
Location is close to metro stations. Latin quarter neighborhood is lovely, very close to the most amazing crepe shop. I felt safe here.

This is not a hostel, at least not like a regular one. Lack of kitchen is actually really serious issue for people who want to save money, moreover there is no fridge so even if you buy some groceries you don’t have a place to leave them. The bathrooms don’t have hangers which makes it difficult to place your clothes when you shower.
I liked that it was reasonably clean and most of the staff was nice.

There wasn’t a breakfast or kitchen. The plug was in the bottom bed. The shower wasn’t such hot.

There was a great lack of surfaces in the toilet and shower area. There was only one clothes rack besides the shower so you could only hang your towel and maybe 2 more clothing items, but nowhere to put anything else you might have on you (cosmetics bag, underwear, pajamas etc) without them getting wet. There was also no way to dry your hands when you washed them after going to the toilet unless you had your towel with you or tried to use the hair dryer.
The location was excellent. The establishment itself was very cute and quite cozy. In the room there was a vanity, a big mirror, a trash bin and a table. There was an option for using lockers, but I personally didn't use them. The room and beddings were clean upon arrival. The city tax could be paid by card with no problem. Toilet and shower were communal, but there was enough of them to never create a long queue and they were clean. The bunk beds were very ok to sleep in, although it did get a bit cold during the night with a thin blanket.

The bathrooms were a mess, the buckets were full and garbage on the floor, even in the showers. Also the bathrooms are far from the room and separated from the showers that made it uncomfortable. And there is no enough bathrooms near the rooms so people knocked the door really frequently. The shower was cold and you have to push a button to get water that lasts 10/15 seconds, so you have to do it several times to receive o lo cold water
The people was super nice and they let me leave the luggage after check out. Arrived late at night so the 24hr check in was really helpful

it s not very social, it s called “young and happy” but should be called “old and happy” There s not that many young people There is a common area but not so friendly
it s situated in a nice street room is pretty big has a sink which is nice

The facilities weren't very clean and the first night we had a cold shower. The beds make a bit of a noise and you can hear people from outside as it is by a busy street.
The location is great, right in the middle of a street with shops and cafes. It is close to the city centre but far enough away for it to be affordable. The rooms are nice, beds are clean and staff was kind.

I stayed in a female dormitory and the door was not getting locked. The access cards that were provided were of no use as anyone could get in without access cards.

No Lift and your room on the 4th floor. And you have 20Kg 28 Inch luggage.

Great location, spacious rooms, good wi-fi connection. The hostel is clean ans with pretty design. Coffee for good price (1,5 euros) from the machine. The room had two chairs and a table, private sink. The ground floor has a lobby where you can sit and have a meal, or just hang out

Private toilet was not clean and uper bed was uncomfortable and also the charging board was not near the bed so it's hard
Staff was amazing & helping bed was fine and location is good to they have luggage room which is good if you only staying night so uh can leave the begs there and go to travel and collect them after lobby was great you can stay in lobby as much time as you want no staff will ask you to leave even they let uh stay for hrs in the seatting area after check out share toilet was clean and good

The bathroom for the girls was so small and the the tape of the shower 🚿 wasn't working so good it's giving a lot of water 💦 with out control
