Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was a thick layer of dust behind headboard. Set of draws dusty and needs polishing. Heated towel rail doesn't work. Shower head fell apart which Tony fixed so it could be used. Hand basin had no cover. Not good as things can easily fall down. Room service should have been done at day 2 of 4. Lots of stairs.
Close to town, good fridge/freezer. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

IndiaThe room stinks a little bit every time you enter . Dont know its because of Venice itself or was it particularly our room . But the bed and room and washroom were very clean . dont know from where the smell came from . Mostly its in the air of Venice itself.
The location is really very good as all major Tourist Locations are nearby .

United States60 steps up to our room. No instructions on A/C, didn't even know it had one. Left windows open for the room to cool, ended up with over 50 mosquito bites during the night and couldn't sleep.
The location was great.

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit on the small side and the shower leaked, but it was only for 1 night so not really a problem. Reception was a bit odd in that there were no staff on site, but we phoned for a door code and the key had been left inside for us.
The location was fabulous, right behind St Mark's Square. The room was fine, big enough for 2 double beds, and comfortable. It was pretty basic but we only stayed 1 night and the location made up for it.

GreeceThe room is locatied in a very narrow building ( like most of the building in Venice) resulting in very steep steps. The steps are all having carpet and the stairway area have been decorated with tissue from down to up. I guess they have done it for a more classy look.. not really my kind a taste, but he. Our room was not having a special view, not like on the picture on booking, but I guess that must have been the view from one of the other rooms.. The room could use a little upgrade, some color, some curtains some nice decoration. It also had some leakstains on the ceiling. We only stayed 1 night and personlly it didnt bother me, but i guess that the owner could make a small room make-over to create a better experience for the future renters. All together it was an OK stay for a rather last minute booking. We were very happy with the location and that was our main goal!
The accommodation was in an EXCELLENT location, right in the centre, everything could be done by foot. It is about half an hour with the waterbus about 9 euro per person, but this is a great opportunity to see something from Venice, it is an excursion on its own. The accommodation is easy to reach from the waterbus, but be aware that when they say the 2nd street after the bridge, they mean a very very narrow alley, that if you dont know, you dont see it. The self checkin with the door code is very easy, We just experienced a small issue with the key as there was another client who made a wrong booking and took our key, resulting in us not being able to find our key on the reception table in the hallway. But after 1 phonecall, the keymanager, did the extra effort to come all the way to the accommodation to solve the situation. That was a very nice service. (Thank you so much for that. ) They finally arranged everything very wel for us AND for the other family. It was a relief for us to know that they were accommodated as well. The room was big enough for 4 persons with 2 double beds, there was a fridge, a tv and an airconditioning. The room was basic but good enough for us. I gave it only 6/10 for price /value because i believe for the price we paid the room could have a little bit more taken care of..
