Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceAC was not working, it was June and hot. Finally staff adjusted small table fan. Hard to find the Hotel Entrance Door. The Hotel Entrance Door is far away from staff and had to ring a bell to open it. Thoughtfully, staff is available 24/7. The first pic is the hotel main entrance. Find the hotel button and ring it. Staff will open the gate. In rare case, if staff is NOT responsive there's a way beside Hotel Main Entrance door(second pic). If you are lucky and way is open, go inside and take stairs on the left.

For a hostel, it was well maintained, staff was helpful, the rooms were kept clean, and location was easy to get around Milano. Lots of shops nearby and 🚌, train 🚆 🚊 🚎 connections to major attractions around Milano

United KingdomThe actual hotel is pretty hard to find. Yes, there’s a sign at the front. However, when you press the bell and they buzz you in, there is no direction as to where to go to be honest. I was stuck for 10 minutes trying to figure out where the hotel is inside the building. Little did I know there’s soo much construction going on within the actual building. There needs to be clear signs the moment a guest comes in so they know where the hotel is. For the room and everything it wasn’t worth the price. The sockets which are connected in the bedroom are literally falling off and it’s definitely a safety hazard. Anyone could possibly get electrocuted by it. It needs to be fixed. Also when showering, the water comes out of the cubicle and makes the whole toilet wet. There isn’t enough towels for one to even dry up the floor. As well as this, there’s no mop even if I wanted to clean the mess
It was quite near to the shopping centre. A bit of a walk but a nice walk if the weather is good.

United KingdomIt is what you pay for, it is very noisy from other guests and also at the moment there is work done outside so they will wake you up at 8am. It is okay just to sleep but it definitely needs some renovations. The staff is nice but the rooms are not that great

United KingdomOne of the receptionists (the one on duty on 17-18th Sept, day shift) was unacceptably very rude. He unapologetically shouted at me when I complained about my missing towel. The bathroom was quite unkempt so i asked for a cleaning rag from the same guy to wipe the bathroom floor but he was cussing all the time. I understand Arabic so i noted all his side comments, unfortunately. He doesn’t seem to speak and understand much English, and i would have just let this slide as the other guys were nice, but i didn’t feel any remorse from that certain guy. And yeah, on my first day, i was offered coffee and pastries by this kind receptionist. When that rude guy was there the next morning, the coffee machine suddenly was not working (don’t know how true that was). Some of my roommates also experienced the same rudeness from the guy, if not worse.
I liked that it was accessible to public transport as the distance was not that close to the tourist spots.

United KingdomYou have to go through a construction site to get to the reception which was a little confusing and may be difficult if you have lots of luggage. Also, it was a bit loud when guests checked in late at night as I could hear all the noises from the corridor.
Easy to get to from Centrale station using the bus. Our room was clean and the staff brought towels and toiletries to our room after check-in. We also received free coffee after check-out.

United KingdomDirections to the actual hotel could be better, it is sign posted outside but is within a building which includes peoples apartments, unfortunately there was alot of building work going on within the building which made it more difficult to find the hotel entrance, slight issues with a broken toilet seat lid but did not cause real issues.
This location was outside of the "tourist" area of Milan which myself and my son appreciated and there was a local pizza place called Capricci which was amazing! The free aircon was an absolute bonus and made the stay a lot more comfortable.

GreeceNo towel and blankets provided. Since I was staying one night, I didn't bother asking. There are no bed assignments so it makes you wonder how they know which beds to clean. Beds weren't comfy. One bathroom in a shared room of 8. The bathroom had poor ventilation and mold growing on the ceiling, and there was a point where there was a bad foul odor. The air conditioning wasn't strong so you smelled the odor coming from the other guests. Probably better to stay here when the weather isn't so hot. It's good for a one night stay.
You can check-in late for no extra fees. Check in and check out was easy. The staff who checked me in was friendly and nice. The location is not far from the city center, you can take one tram that takes you straight into the city. The price was cheap for a one bed in a shared room of 8. There is air conditioning in the room, but it isn't strong. There are lockers in the room to keep your things safe.

AustraliaLack of secruity. No keys provided meaning door to dorm was unlocked. Reception is manned 24/7 but don't like the dorm being accessible to everyone else in the building. Would be better if keys could be left at reception if they are worried about people losing them.

United StatesIn the shared room, there are not individual lights so when someone is coming or going, the whole room is lit, makes it hard for others to sleep. The shared room does not have a locking door so anyone could come in at any time.
