Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandNo laundry service. Breakfast was a bit mediocre. Restaurant was great but at times a bit understaffed. Sorrento is definitely walkable but be aware that the walk from the marina up to the hotel will be 25 mins walking uphill.
Great view on Sorrento and the gulf of naples. Friendly staff that gave good recommendations for local sights and restaurants. Nice garden with hammocks for guests to use. Quiet at night.

United KingdomAny criticism would be purely pedantic as the positives outweigh any negatives. However, the hotel may want to consider upgrading the shower cubicles (or getting rid of them entirely and having wet rooms). Also, a selection of herbal teas for breakfast would be nice.
All the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Due to the elevated position of the hotel, the views of the sea, Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius were stunning. Definitely recommend getting a room with a sea view! The hotel itself is very traditional with many original features and has a homely feel to it, which adds to its charm. We had a room off the main flowered courtyard which was completely lovely, and for an added bonus there was a wee gecko on the wall at night. Do not expect a modern, slick hotel as you may be disappointed! In the evenings the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful as you are well away from the busy town centre. The swimming pool is perfect with plenty of sun loungers. There were also some very thoughtful additions, jasmine flowers around the outdoor shower by the pool smelt wonderful and there are hammocks under the olive trees in a lovely shady, breezy spot which were delightful in the heat of the mid-day sun. Wide selection of choice for breakfast, including cereal, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurts, cold meats and cheese, breads etc.... and cakes! There is also tea, fresh coffee, fruit juices etc available. We ate dinner at the hotel on one evening which was very nice. Traditional, home cooked food which was better than some of the restaurants in Sorrento. The dinner menu changes daily so the "mains" selection is limited but you can ask to see the menu in the morning and make your decision to eat there or not. The hotel is located above the centre of Sorrento, so it only takes 10 minutes to walk into town, which is all down hill and very easy. The walk back is uphill and quite steep, and takes about 20 minutes. We stayed for a week with a family of 5 and had an brilliant time. Thank you so much to the team at La Badia for providing such a beautiful hotel and friendly service.

United KingdomStunning location with beautiful views. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Gave us a map to help us know the walk into town (20 mins on a casual stroll). Breakfast was beautiful, lovely juicy tomatoes and a gorgeous variety of pastries and cake. We also had coffee freshly prepared for us each day. Room was spacious with a nice view and lovely balcony.

AustraliaI loved this place and would definitely recommend but the only down side is that it is a bit of a walk uphill to get to the property. I would get a taxi from the train station or there is a bus every 20 minutes which drops you nearer
So peaceful and clean and the staff are wonderful. The views are great

United States of AmericaThe walk back is uphill and very strenuous especially after a long sightseeing day. The taxi cost is $25.00 from the center of Sorrento. It would be nice to have some hotel service for their guests seeing that the bus doesn't run frequently.
This is a beautiful hotel with warm and welcoming staff and beautiful gardens. The owner herself comes by every morning to greet you. The rooms are spacious with a real Italian feel. The breakfast terrace overlooking Sorrento was wonderful. There is a pool for those spending time relaxing. It is a downhill walk (uphill back) to the center of Sorrento around 20 minutes. Many of the rooms have a private terrace overlooking Sorrento and the sea. Ours did not. However, there are several other peaceful areas to relax outside including a common terrace with a view and the garden seating for all to use. It is an oasis in the middle of a bustling touristy area of Sorrento.

CanadaThe beds were very uncomfortable. There was also not enough counter space ie. bathroom needs somewhere to put toilettries- a dresser would also be nice.
The grounds were beautiful. The gardens and pool were very well maintained.

AustraliaThe food on the dinner menu was a little variable at times but I have pretty high standards, the breakfast was excellent.
I liked everything about this hotel experience, it far exceeded my expectations! - quiet and peaceful. I was concerned about the location and the walking distance to town, but it was just lovely! It is 15 minutes' walk with a view all the way down, a real local experience. All the staff are respectful and welcoming. Our room was the best, with a balcony overlooking the water, large bedroom for a couple with a large bathroom and serviced every day. it has a restaurant and bar too which was great when you're tired and don't want to go into town. it has a lovely pool as well. I would highly recommend this place and understand why it is popular.

The view from the restaurant terrace is spectacular, can look out across the Gulf of Naples and see Vesuvius, Procida and Ischia. Delicious caffe latte, excellent breakfast, friendly attentive service. Front desk so nice, easy, warm, with Nonna sitting in lobby greeting and chatting. Loved the gardens in the olive grove. Very clean. Rooms freshened daily. Not fancy bathrooms but clean. Great views of sea and Sorrento. Enjoyed sitting at the window looking at the view. Loved that it was out of the business of Sorrento but close to walk a few times daily. However the walk is up hill and cobbled stoned path so not good for those restricted physically, otherwise not an issue. Enjoyed the various sitting areas around the hotel and the hammocks. Lovely pool area. I don't think the photos on the website did it justice. Delighted with our stay and would recommend.

United States of AmericaThe view was incredible, especially from the outdoor restaurant. The hammocks in the garden were a pleasant surprise and the pool was cute and lovely on a hot day. The downtown area of Sorrento was a short 15-20 minute walk, but if traveling with someone who cannot climb ramps I would suggest taking a taxi. Lovely clean property, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend this property.
