Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaHot water from the faucet didn't get hot unless you ran the shower, and watch your head if you are a tall person on the stairs to the rooms. There are no elevators if you have heavy luggage to carry.
A nice place in a quiet and less touristy area in Motomachi, on a vibrant pedestrian friendly street with many shops and restaurants. It is about a two minute walk from a Ishikawacho station, and about 10 minutes from Chinatown. There is no staff but check-in was easy enough with the info they send you. Room was quite big compared to other places I've stayed in Japan's urban areas.

TaiwanThe entire apartment is on the 2nd floor, you need to carry the luggage upstairs, but the stairs are not many, so it’s still relatively easy for us.
Great location! There is a cafe across the street, family mart just downstairs, and local small pharmacy shop next door.

ThailandYou might easily pass by the entrance because of the signage is so small. I had to circle back 4 time to find out the location. The hotel doesn't have any staff located on the site, you have to put in the code that previously provide in the confirmation email. Be prepared!
The location is very convenience. You can get anything in just 5 mins walk. The room is small but very well organized, every essential needs are available. It's quite fun for the kids to climb up and down the bunk bed. We all had a great time there!

United States of AmericaNote: What I have here is just some things I noticed... not so much complaints but things to be aware of. The windows seemed rather thin and any major rolling of carts (probably of the store owners below) or busy cars outside would reverberate inside especially during the early hours. The thinness didn't impact the heating in the room since the Air Con (heater) would keep the room nice and toasty. The stairs to get to the upper level of the bed is steep, just beware. Also, in this suite there are a few steps in the middle of the room... two out of my three kids as well as my wife fell on these steps. It's just the poor location of these steps that we needed to keep an eye on in Suite C. Maybe having a different colored/glow-in-the-dark tape on the edge of each step may help distinguish the steps (<-- suggestions for the owner). We had 5 people stay at this location (2 adults, 3 kids) but we only had 4 bath towels and they were not able to bring another towel. If you need another towel, it may be a good idea to request another towel before you arrive just to have enough towels for your group. Finally, the sitting area was a little tight right in front of the TV. If it was a tad bit larger in terms of sitting space that would have been perfect but nothing to complain about. Again, all these are small issues that shouldn't really impact anyone's decision to stay here. We had a good stay and recommend this place.
We stayed in Suite C at Grand Cave Motomachi. We really liked the location (in Motomachi) and the fact that it was about a short block away (3 minute walk) from the JR Ishikawa Cho station. This station is only 7 minutes away from Yokohama Station. Grand cave is right above Family Mart so you can get your "conbini" food and immediately take it upstairs to your room. Right next to Family Mart was a Chinese restaurant called Ippinkaku which looked rather delicious. Right across the street was a Doutor coffee shop as well. There are a bunch of restaurants on this street including a McDonalds (one of a few places open on the night of Jan 1st). Food options are abundant and since you are so close to the JR station you can always hop on the line and within 10 minutes you'll have many options. Check-in conisisted of entering the main digital coded front door (you receive the access number in your email) and then an access number for your Suite room once you check in using their tablet in the waiting area. If you are a foreigner you have to input your Passport info and take a photo with your passport using their tablet camera. A nice lady (who speaks both English and Japanese) will speak to you remotely on the tablet and verifies your info that you just input. The fact that we had 4 single beds available allowed us (a family of 5 consisting of 2 parents and 3 little kids) to comfortably sleep at night. It was a double decker/bunk bed style setup so it really is meant for agile younger families. Each level near the head of the beds were 2x USB-A and 2x 2 prong outlets. As we know all Japanese hotels and homes have a bidet/washlet now, the one here I believe was by Toshiba/Panasonic? and not Toto. It worked well! Our room was very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a no-frills, place to stay.

New ZealandThe pictures did make the accomodations seem much bigger than they were. In reality it was pretty narrow without much space for luggage. It was a bit harder for my party since we're all tall slightly large people. However, for the location it totally makes sense that the room was small. Kinda to be expected when traveling in Japan as a slightly larger foreigner. Honestly it's not really a complaint, just want other people to have reasonable expectations when they come to stay. However, the beds were very spacious and comfy, so it was okay when we just hung out in our beds.
I loved the area of Yokohama we were in. So many fun bars and cute shops. Also super close to the train station so it was easy to trip around the area. Everything was really clean and the AC, bathroom, and laundry were all great amenities. Also, the beds were really fluffy and comfortable, and plenty of plugs and individual lights for everyone to do their own thing in the evening.

United States of AmericaThe mattress was soft and be sure to bring an eye mask if you are light sensitive. The biggest downside is the bathroom only had one towel rack and that isn’t enough for the allowed 4 people. There wasn’t a hand towel rack or vanity shelving or hooks to hang a toiletry bag. Counter space is extremely limited. There is a retractable clothes line at the upper bunk where we had to hang everyone’s towels but it was crowded because that’s where we hang the laundry. For people staying more than a week make sure you stager your towel washing because it takes a while to line dry.
We stayed in the room C/comfort quadruple room. 258 feet. Stayed for 20 days with 2 adults and 2 kids. The location was very close to Ishikawacho station’s south Motomachi exit. There are convenient stores and restaurants nearby. The room is snug but it was enough space for our luggage. Each of us had a luggage at the base of the our beds. Having bunks was great. Since it so close to our friends I would like to stay again.

CanadaThe beds were mattresses directly on the floor and in the loft/bunk space, so the bottom surface of the mattress squeaked against the vinyl flooring everytime someone moved. Although we never heard guests in the other suites, and the Motomachi is mostly quiet at night, there are still some sounds (people in the neighboring apartments, restaurants with loudspeakers at their front door) audible at night time. The layout of the room was efficient for the tiny square footage, but logistically there is no space for a person to dress without being in full view of the rest of the apartment. Maybe a privacy curtain around the washbasin/shower/toilet area could provide that option?
Great location very close to the JR station, and situated right on the Motomachi so lots of shops and restaurants are a stone's throw away. The classier shops stay about a block down, but this side was still nice and close to everything. The room was very clean and arranged for efficient use of space.
