Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe beach loungers are right outside the room so in the evening people can be sitting a few meters from your room if you get the front bungalow. In the dry season when it’s cooler the rooms would be cooler, there is a ceiling fan and I believe one family bungalow has air con. But if you go in the hot, rainy season I don’t think it would be worth it.
We were absolute beach front! We were lucky to get the bungalow. No air conditioning but a breeze from the seas. Bora Bora is so expensive and really doesn’t cater for the budget traveller so we were lucky (although AUD$300 a night isn’t really budget). But the other bungalows in this complex might not have been so comfortable. There are beach loungers. It’s all open in the bungalow with a convenient little kitchen. Just across the road from a little supermarket and near the Avis office to rent scooters. The island is small and we found scooters were adequate. And it’s in walking distance to the famous Matira Beach - a stunningly, beautiful beach, voted one of the best in the world on Trip Advisor There are canoes and bikes for hire

CanadaBe prepared to track sand wherever you go, given the location of the bungalows right on the beach, but that's a minor issue for an overall nice stay in my view.
The hotel is well situated on a beautiful beach (Matira beach) with great snorkling nearby. Restaurants and bars are plentiful around the beach, including at the larger resort nearby. The rooms were well appointed, but basic. If possible I would recommend you get a room facing the beach to take advantage of the winds, but there were plenty of fans to keep you cool at night as well.

DenmarkToo slow Wi-Fi (however, my Vodafone SIM card hotspot was as slow…)
Low key, on the beach - the sand goes to your veranda. Good service. Super easy to go snorkelling from the beach, or rent the village’s kayak to enjoy the local Coral Gardens! The referred massage therapist was really good! If you need a more posh moment, pass by the Intercontinental bar after the sunset…

United StatesCons- When we arrived, we found various clumps of hair, termite and gecko fecal droppings, and ants on the counters and floors. Lots of bugs and Geckos, but it is a bungalow so that was expected. For the price, while cheaper than surrounding resorts, we still would’ve liked to have the room cleaned a little better than just a floor sweep and clean towels each day.
We had a great 5-day stay at hotel temanuata. Pros- very friendly, kind, and helpful staff. Christine was especially kind and helpful. Unbeatable location- right on the beach and walking distance to restaurants, rental cars, and other local beaches. The garden path was beautiful and lush. Fresh beach towels every day. Cute cat, Bada Bada. Very Accommodating with setting up with taxis and storing our luggage after check out and allowing us to use facilities after check out.

New ZealandThe fale is a bit dark for most of the day, with two little nice private yards which, however, are squeezed between walls. Furniture would enjoy some renovation. If you can stay in one of the fale next to the water it would be just great (we did not know).
Very spacious fale, even too big for us! Great location right on the only sandy beach of Borabora, close to snorkelling spots and sneak cafès. Supermarket with fresh bread and a good wine selection just in front. Having coffee and aperitivo on the little wharf, looking at boats and stars, is worth the stay! Good ventilation and air-con system. Comfy kitchen. Daily cleaning and towel changing much appreciated.

United StatesIt's really hot in Bora Bora. The lack of air conditioning is really tough. The owners are honest that there's no AC so it's not like they mislead you, but you have to realize that if you are sensitive to heat, it will be difficult to sleep or feel comfortable. Thank goodness for the ceiling fan but it's still very difficult to get comfortable. The huts are outdated and have open ceilings, which means critters like lizards can crawl into your hut as well. Beds were hard and there were only two very thin pillows for the two of us. We made it work because we realize this is a 2 star hotel and much much cheaper than staying anywhere else, and the location was just perfect for what we wanted. However, if you're looking for romance and comfort, you're better off paying more money and going somewhere else.
The location is EXCELLENT! We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Matira Beach and restaurants, as well as the private beach. These things did not disappoint! The private beach is fantastic! We could snorkel right off the shore, I saw many fish and a group of 5 eagle rays. The hotel grounds were very quiet, clean, the beach was great. Restaurant next door Lucky House had good food. Avoid Bora Bora Beach Club, the food was disgusting. Unfortunately the hotel next door Intercontinental is no longer allowing non-hotel guests on their property so we couldn't dine at their restaurant or buy tickets to their show, which the owner had told us we could do. Hopefully they open that option again soon, as it would have been nice to attend. Market across the street offers fresh baguettes and pastries each morning for breakfast, so don't pay for the hotel breakfast.

United Kingdomthe lack of air conditioning was a big drama for me. the apartment was like a furnace and even with a combination of fans it was hard to sleep. plus the numerous bugs and Gekos that were a constant annoyance. yes it’s a tropical island but cockroaches and other bugs constantly sharing the room with you is not my personal choice.
the positioning of the property was superb just a few metres from the beach itself. and the facilities inside the apartment were great

RomaniaI rent a bike, but its quality was very low. It was very difficult pedaling it. I was told it's a Chinese one and all the bikes on the island are the same. Also... If you rent for the full day, you actually have to return it by 6 pm. So I'd suggest renting an electric bike instead.
The location is great, it has a private beach and the huts are nice. It is next to lucky house and InterContinental moana, so there are great food options. It gets quite hot at night, because there is no ac. But the fan makes a small change. Christine was great. Overall, it was a great experience.

Village Temanuata in Bora Bora is an amazing value for the island. A wonderful central location on Matira Beach to restaurants. Located very near the Intercontinental provided easy access to the bi-weekly cultural dance show and buffet there. The private beach is shaded with a breeze in the afternoon and has amazing views. We stayed in #12 bungalow. It is a family bungalow that could sleep 6 people. Having a kitchen was great! Our bungalow had air conditioning and a hot water shower, as well. The private patios were nice for relaxing, too. Christophe is a kind and relaxed host. Definitely would recommend Village Temanuata to families looking for a great value in Bora Bora.

New ZealandNot much!! Friendly staff, great location and good deals.
Beach location was amazing! White sand beach on your doorstep!!! Great snorkeling from beach too. 😄😄😁 we travelled with a 1.5year old and the staff were very accommodating and lovely. Having the beautiful public beach around the corner and pizza place right next door made the trip even better. Rooms are basic but have everything you need and are cleaned daily. Very cool spot 😎😎 managed to see turtles, stingrays, reef sharks and an abundance of cool fish 40m out in lagoon too. Bonus is that you can hire bikes to travel from here too🏝 with car rental and boat hire 5mins from accomodation.

United StatesI couldn't get a room oceanfront. The hotel is far from "downtown" but the island is big so you can't have everything. Sometimes the room got stuffy even with the 3 fans on.
It was nice to be close to the beach. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The staff helped with excursions but be sure to check the prices.
