How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no elevator in the building, and it was a bit difficult to find the hotel since there is no sign outside and it just looks like a normal apartment if you don't go to very close and see the name on the door.
Rooms were super clean, they are cleaned every day. Location was great, rather a quite area but still very close to the city.

Beds were a tad hard but not too much of a big deal. Also, you do share a bathroom with others which isn't a huge deal but may require some wait time.
The room was amazing, it was the perfect size for two people and we had a mini balcony which allowed us to see some of the city views. The location is pretty good but you either have to walk down/up a few steps or walk up a slight hill to get to the place. Everything was clean and the staff were lovely.

This was the perfect landing place for a first-time visit to Lisbon. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was very well located just off Liberdade Ave., providing easy walking access to the old city and popular neighbourhoods. Most of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. A big thanks to them!

The rooms do have poor sound proofing and you can hear people next door and upstairs which isn’t great when you are trying to sleep. Perhaps try and book the top floor and pay extra if needs be
Excellent place to stay! Amazing staff who are extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are spotless and cool despite the hot weather. Excellent location with the metro nearby and a great breakfast place downstairs too. Would highly recommend this place to stay!

The steep stairs could be difficult for certain people, anyway the rooms are more pleasant in upper floors.
The location in Chiado, the small balcony and the view overlooking the small park.

The only complaint we had was that noise from guests or staff using the back stairs late at night made it difficult to sleep a couple of nights during our stay. . This may not be a problem in any other room than #103. The only facility recommendation we would make is that the addition of a couple of comfortable chairs would have improved the comfort of our stay even more.
We were pleasantly surprised at our bright, comfortable room with its huge bed. Staff here are very friendly and incredibly accommodating. Location is also excellent on the corner of a very nice neighbourhood park, with cafes and restaurants dotted around the square, and within easy reach of the metro and beautiful Liberdade Avenue. Modern double glazed windows also did an excellent job of shutting out outside city noise.

We were beside a most beautiful small park with huge ancient trees and families taking advantage of the playground. We were close to the metro and the botanical gardens. The staff were very polite, spoke English and were very helpful.

We had a lovely stay here. Staff was very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The location is quite ideal as it’s walking distance to some big attractions. Plenty of food choices around. Only downside would be that you can hear the noise from outside well, so a light-sleeper might find that uncomfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place!
