Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWonderful small hotel in the Portuguese quarters of Bangkok. The owners (a Thai lady and her son) are super welcoming and truly make you feel like home. Walking distance to all the main sights, but in a quiet area. Small common kitchen and a rooftop!

United StatesGreat room, bed, AC. Simple, clean, comfortable. Wonderful value and perfect location in a local neighborhood just a short walk across the bridge to the flower market. Such a nice host family - went above and beyond to help and take care after food poisoning. Will most definitely stay again.

PhilippinesThe room is really big. It also has refrigerator which I like because I buy foods that I cannot finish. So, the fridge is really useful to store my left overs which I can eat in the morning for breakfast. I also love the bathroom it's big and I love the sink. I can dance in their bathroom which I always do at home. They also have television, the aircon is so quiet. I also have a place to hang ny clothes, and theres is also a long table for work and doing random stuff. They also have free water, coffee and snacks.

VietnamThought I could commute to the other side of the river by the local small boat harbour that is very close to The Hog (the route is still shown in Google Maps) but it turned out to be shut down, so getting to the other side of the river was a bit of a hassle. Of course this has nothing to do with the excellence of the service provided by the property.
Very lovely homestay and in very local neighborhood, away from all the tourists-packed areas. The owner does pay attention to each detail and we feel very accomodated. The lady who takes care of the place was ready to help us with any inquiries we had.

FranceThe house is a bit far from the city center except if you take a taxi. By public transportation it is a bit far.
The host was super nice and helpful. The room was clean and confortable. The bed was a bit hard but nevertheless my partner and I slept super well. Also there is a washing machine for clothes which is super convenient. The house is close to Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Grand Palace.

FranceThe staircases may be a little high and difficult to climb for older people.
Great location for visiting Wat Arun (15min walk away), the Great Palace and other temple closeby, there is a street market every morning before 10am for easily getting local food mainly locals shop there. A little far from the subway (20min walk). The tenants are super nice and are always willing to help. Coffee and fresh water available for free. Possibility to rest a the terrace in the rooftop. Thanks a lot

It is in a quiet location at night. We had access through the alleys to the walkway along the river, the owner and her son were really helpful and sweet. There was always water in the fridge. A few spaces where we could eat or sit and relax outside our room.

RussiaMy husband and I stayed at the Hog for a couple of days when we arrived in Bangkok, and afterwards for another week during our massage training. It was a perfect island of tranquility in Bangkok for us. Walking distance to Wat Arun, Flower market and Wat Pho. Just around the corner - the Portuguese quarters with cute tiny streets and cafes. The owner and her son were very welcoming and accommodating. There are free coffee, water and snacks. Common area with a microwave, cups and kettle in the room. We were on a ground floor and could enjoy our breakfast in the small garden.

HungaryEverything is in very nice condition but the best part is the hostess lady who runs everything. She was very kind and welcoming, even though we had to check in in the middle of the night. She also arranged everything we asked for, she made us feel at home. The location is also super nice in a very local area, walking distance to Wat Arun. Thank you for a great stay!

Israeli really liked the firm bed, though there might be people who would not.
location is great, tucked away in a neighborhood/private setting by a great stupa landmark and just across the bridge (3 actually) from the Flower Market, short distance to China Town and within walking distance of many attractions/areas. there's a boat stop (Memorial bridge) on the east side of the bridge which can be conveniently used to skip to areas further north or south in the city - at minimal cost. host was very helpful/friendly, although things were smooth/clear enough that not much communication was needed. staying on the property side of the river (west side) also allows for tourist-free eateries, supermarket and more - all near by.

FranceQuite a lot of mosquitos in the room and no mosquito nets. The place is a bit far from any restaurant but if you look at the location before you can see it. The place is not well indicated with a big sign outside so look through the gate to spot it. Putting a sign outside is an easy improvment to do and we are not the customers to speak about it.
Nice stay in the hog. Room was very clean and nice. Bathroom was cosy and the AC was working great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They provide free coffee and tea with crackers everyday. You also have access to a fridge. It's a nice place to stay. They offer access to a washing machine for a good price. Unlike other comments we found it super calm.
