How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

From the moment we walked through the door into the reception area, we were treated with so much respect and care. We arrived 6 hours early as our fight landed at 5am. We were accommodated in every way possible. We were provided with an offer to enjoy breakfast, an early book-in and storage for our luggage while the room was being prepared. The breakfasts were scrumptious, more than we expected, the waiter at breakfast and the kitchen staff were amazingly attentive and well-trained in hospitality. Our room was exceptionally clean, and our linen was changed every day, without fuss. The shower was amazing, the bed was very comfortable and the temperature of the room, very conducive to a good night's rest. We were close to most of the city attractions and public transportation. All in all, the management and staff, location and value for money deserve nothing less than a 5-star rating. We don't think there is any other hotel in Istanbul that could have given us a better experience than Saratoga. We will certainly return!

Very clean, in a good location, amazing staff. Went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Mentioned one day we like fresh orange juice and the manager went out of his way to ensure every morning we would have fresh orange juice for breakfast. Very polite and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Will defo be returning and staying at the same hotel in future.

The minibar is lit and therefore too bright at night. It needs darkening, but that's it😁
Exceptionally lovely staff at reception, breakfast and cleaning. always smiling and super helpful. wonderful breakfast, very loving. Fantastic location to the main attractions and to the bus stop for the airport bus transfer. Very clean. Thank you very much for the wonderful days.

The rooms could be bigger :)
Overall it is a very nice hotel, very clean , personal friendly , very central located ( you need just a few minutes of walk to reach the main attractions like Blue Moschee, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi), the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the stay at Saratoga hotel.

That we couldn’t stay longer!
Fantastic location 3-5 min walk from the Blue Mosque, 10 mins from Hagia Sophia and 15-20 min walk from Grand Bazaar. Exceptionally clean room and facilities, good breakfast and very helpful staff.

room besides us was always noisy
excellent room even though in floor -1 (basement). facilities are complete and clean. we are treated excellent during breakfast, the lady is very kind-hearted. also the receptionist are always helpful, and greeted us everytime we met. i truly recommended this hotel. near ayasofya, blue mosque (+-5 till 10mins by walk)

I would say that there aren’t any downsides if not the fact that the reception could have a map of the city to be able to grab it easily!
The structure was clean, fresh and welcoming. The location was perfect and practical. The staff was super nice and available! If I were to come back to Istanbul I would definitely stay here again.

The ac controller is kinda complex to use. I tried several times during my 2 night stay just to keep ac working, somehow it only turned up for 3 min and it closed down.
Great location, 3-5min by walk to the blue mosque and ayasofia! The bathroom and bedroom is super clean.

Not near a Metro stop (very few lines for city as big as Istanbul), but with tram available and near a Marmaray stop.
The staff!, very friendly and a very convenient location. 100% recomended for visiting ghe old town.

The noise. We had a basement room and the noise coming from the kitchen, hallway and from upstairs was so loud you could barely fall asleep.
The location is top notch! Minutes away from so many attractions. There is parking right outside of the hotel and it's not very expensive. Room looked nice and clean.

Super location right at the side of the Blue Mosque and lovely staff. Hotel is super clean and easy to walk to restaurants and local shops. We also had a little balcony which was nice to sit out on.

Everything was lovely. Small suggestion, having some coat hooks in the rooms would be helpful.
I would highly recommend Saratoga Hotel. It's literally a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque. The hotel rooms are so clean and nicely decorated, although on the slightly smaller side but I was happy with it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Me and my family stayed during Ramadan and the hotel staff served breakfast at 5am in the morning especially for us- how kind! I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely nothing to mention
The best hotel staff I've ever met, all staff members starting from reception to the staff serving breakfast went beyond all expectations, lovely people, lovely attitude, I think that's how they show their hospitality, amazing. The room was very comfy, very very clean, the breakfast was just perfect, the location is unbeatable, just in the heart of historical center of Istanbul. Loved my stay very much, thank you very much, I had a pleasant stay
