The room was bright and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, when we asked about dining out or finding a laundromat. The full English breakfast was piping hot and delicious . There was also cereal and fruit on the side and lots of hot coffee, tea or cold beverages. We sat in the breakfast room and watched the boats go by. we also enjoyed the pub right downstairs for food and drinks.

Check in was swift . Our hosts Jools and John were were so welcoming and friendly. helped us with a parking permit for the duration of our visit, we parked the car outside the guest house and left it there and walked into town just a 5 minute walk away from the b&b with lots of restaurants and shops. Perfect location! Guest house is immaculate throughout! room was spacious with comfortable beds, kettle in the room with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, free wifi. Breakfast was delicious and we had a wide choice of options from the buffet as well as our full English breakfast! Thanks Jools and John for making our stay so pleasant, we will be back!!

It was such a nice room, it's beautiful and clean with a nice smell. The room has just been renovated, so it was a pleasure to spend time there. Friendly hosts created friendly atmosphere among the guests, so it was a pleasure to spend time with them during breakfast. I had a splendid time in the city and my stay here definitely influenced my impression from the city.

Everything - a beautiful building, spotless, cute and comfortable room, quiet, enough space for 2, and, very importantly, free off street parking. We were able to walk everywhere but you need to be reasonably fit as the streets are very steep in parts. Jayne could not have been more welcoming and helpful, a wonderful host. Highly recommend.

Everything about Whale BoneArch (formerly Melrose Guest House) is fantastic. Their correpondense and info folder, the free parking setup and easy access/check-in. All so smooth. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well provided. Welcome water, biscuits and milk and the bed was so comfy we needed an alarm to get us up. The location is great, just a steady 8 minute walk either down the sea front or Upgang Lane depending on what part of Whitby center you want to be at. Will definitely revisit and recommend.

The hosts Paul & Sharon could not do enough to ensure that our stay was special. Their breakfasts were delivered to our room on time and were full and varied. The rooms were very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The hotel situation was ideal for the beach (at the end of the road) and within a fifteen minute walk or four minute drive from the town centre.
