We had house number 5, very spacious, big very comfy bed. We loved the little lounge area where they serve breakfast and a selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. We had a hire car and parked in the car park almost opposite, very reasonably priced. Great base to then explore Kyoto. We did also utilise nearby stations to get around. You are not super close to the very popular tourist areas but all very accessible and it suited us to have a quieter escape as the city was very busy coming into peak blossom time. The whole place feels like a work of art -- traditional but modern at the same time, and very clean. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The place got everyone one might need. The best part is that the price is less than most of the single-room hotels.

Yasaka Shrine is 7 minutes on foot, while Kiyomizu Temple is a 14-minute stroll. beautiful refurbished Machiya in an excellent location. ample room for 6 persons. very clear check in process and clean. concierge was very helpful.
