Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaWi-Fi has been really bad and weak. We had to change the room, but it doesn't help much. Breakfast could upgrade for sure. There have been (scrambled eggs, sausages, bread, watermelon, papaya, coffee, tea and juice). Let's say nothing extra to compare other hotels in Brazil.
Well, it's OK for short stay. I wouldn't say, it's bad. Just whole city is really bad and dangerous. Room was OK, nice bed and bathroom.

BrazilThe noise. And no, it wasn't the street noise, it was the staff noise and the other guests noise. Behind the bedroom I stayed in seemed like a sort of "a staff area" and the noise in there was constantly, and it wasn't during the day, it went on after midnight. The guests noise was a problem too, I think the hallway echo too easily, and as my bedroom was small and at the end of it, it was noisier. One staff, a woman, was really rude too, but the other ones were ok.
The bedroom I stayed in was very clean and tidy, besides being very small.

NetherlandsRoom was small, no warm water in shower. Trash in front of window. Very noisy, you can hear everything from the outside as well as from other rooms. Room key has to be returned to reception when leaving the building and picked up when coming back - not a problem but a bit odd. Breakfast buffet was overrun and staff couldn't keep up stocking up. Neighborhood is not safe after dark and on weekends, it's advisable to take a taxi everywhere at these times.
Cheap room in the historic city center. Breakfast was alright. Bed was comfortable. 24h reception to avoid having to stand outside with luggage on arrival.

IsraelThe hotel staff weren't very helpful. The wifi didn't work at all. and the hotel itself wasn't very clean
The beds in our room were comfortable and pretty good in size. We also had a private shower and bathroom but it was pretty dense. The price was fair and the location was nice even though we only went out to eat dinner so we didn't see much The room has a really nice TV and a great system to put music on which was nice

United KingdomTerrible WiFi!!! Very loud across the street so we couldn't sleep until 1:30am in the morning even with ear plugs in.
Room was small but enough for couple days, clean. Fresh linen, towels, working air conditioning. Breakfast was okay- some fruits, bread, ham, cheese and cake, coffee, tea, juice. Staff was responsive to requests but with delay. Terrible WiFi and very loud at night across the street.

United KingdomWhen we arrived at midnight the room was not ready and they were not expecting us even though I informed them in advance of the arrival time. The price is rather expensive since you can get a luxury apartment on Airbnb with a pool and gym for almost the same price. This feels more like a motel but they are in the process of making everything nicer

BrazilThe room is so small and difficult to walk 😅. There’s no Cloth hanger stand for keeping dress, but have a very small wall cupboard. There’s a wall mounted plastic hanger in the washroom.
The room and the washroom was so clean and perfect. The location of the hotel is perfect. It’s good value as per the price. Breakfast was also good. It’s peaceful and I didn’t find any noise. All the bathroom accessories and amenities were available (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and Disposable Hair Plastic Shower Caps).

United KingdomEverything. Unfortunately this was one of the worst stays. When we entered there were builders and paint everywhere as there were holes in the ceiling. Ironically all the signs say no smoking however the room smelled of cigarettes. The WiFi did not work at all even though promised it would work in all areas. When we queried this and asked for some compensation she said we had to leave to get a refund and then moved us to a room closer to the router. It still didn’t work of course. This room had no window and a hole in the toilet seat. There was constant noise throughout the night as well as the constant dripping of a tap because bad plumbing. Our TV had no remote and the fridge didn’t not work and just smelt and leaked. The breakfast was bland and ended at 9am not 10am as advertised. We chose here because of luggage storage however by storage they meant leaving it behind an unattended desk in the dodgiest part of São Paolo. We are still waiting for some compensation from this stay and I would never stay here ever again and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

BelgiumWorst hotel i ever been to, first i had to ask to change the sheets because they were all dirty… and after returning to my hotel (i was out during the day) i saw bugs crawling everywhere on the wall and in our sheets which is an absolute disgrace! The lady from the reception didn’t believe me so had to come with me and changed my room where also were bugs! They are crawling all over from the first floor to the top. Also theres hairs everywhere, i’m sure the cleaning staff get paid to do nothing. They didn’t wanna refund me after i paid while i didn’t even use the room. This is unacceptable…

SpainWell… since the moment we arrived there were two obvious things: 1. The neighborhood is sketchy and dangerous, specially at night (which is pretty early depending on the time of the year) 2. This is a “love hotel”, young girls entering and leaving all night, mostly accompanied by old men, “trap” doors that communicate with the corridor, red/green lights strategically situated, huge bed-facing mirrors… you can imagine Also, our room, on the first floor and facing the street, didn’t have a window, just blinds. We could hear the party that was going on in the bar across the street all night, they even had a speaker on the street.
Clean and very close to touristic spots.

BahrainI hate to say that all the staff doesn't understand Enflish nor can speak English. When you go out to ask the locals if they can speak English. Their answers are NO. I think the complex problem in Brazil is the language with most locals. But there are some Brazilian who are English literate.. The location of the hotel is too far from the city. Making it so expensive if you wish to go to the city.
I like the hotel facilities. The balcony over looking the sea.

GermanyDirty room with a lonely cockroach finding it’s way around. Dirty bathroom without toilet paper, towels and probably hot water, but didn’t try… moist, sticky and lots of noise from out and inside the hotel throughout the night… staff was somehow friendly though
not really much to like aside of the low price, and somehow the location, although the neighborhood is shady and potentially dangerous at night. This place seems more like a stop for quick pleasures, than a hotel. Unfortunately, the reviews don’t reveal its nature.
