Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe fact that I didn’t receive any information regarding the check-in and when I arrived, one hour over the minimum for the check-in, I had to wait in the rain with my luggage. I even had to call 2 times.

United StatesMainly: The shower flooded the entire bathroom floor and out onto the bedroom floor all the way to the fridge. (Alerted the hotel.) The pillows were too big and firm. Washcloths would have been nice, especially since when trying to wash my face without a washcloth, I hit my head on the shelf below the mirror. It was impossible to bend my face down to the faucet without hitting my head on the shelf.
The room was beautiful, and I liked the simple check-in and checkout. (An introvert's dream!) Very clear instructions. Walking distance to downtown was great too. And when I did have questions and sent an email, the responses were quick.

United KingdomThe room was small, but comfortable. However, other than a tiny shelf at one side of the bed there was nowhere even to put car keys, phone and wallet, let alone sit with a laptop. I've therefore marked down as I had to sit on bed with laptop on my knees :(. If you're travelling for fun, and don't need a desk, then Aska is perfect. I daresay there may be larger (and more expensive) rooms available in the hotel, but Iceland is expensive enough!
Immaculately presented hotel with plenty of on-street parking. It's just a short (but chilly in March!) into town where there are an excellent selection of restaurants. Great information from the staff on reception. Fast internet, and a modern TV that I could easily cast to from my phone.

United StatesThe layout could be a bit confusing. I agree with the other reviews that the sink was a nuisance. Nothing that is a deal breaker. It is nice to stay a bit outside of Central Reykjavík to have more peace and quiet at night.
Great location. There is a great coffee shop nearby called Bókasamlagið that is perfect and also Loving Hut is nearby plus Krónan and I think Bonus. Loved the bathroom design.

DenmarkThe hotel, in general, is REALLY loud. We stayed here 3 nights. To get to your room, you need to open two heavy doors and go outside to the corridor twice. The wind is constantly blowing, making all door openings and closures extra loud. Each time someone came in or out, we heard a big bang that shaked our room's walls. We often woke up in the middle of the night hearing people coming in and checking out.
The water pressure in the shower was great. Also, the bed was comfy. The hotel was around 15 minutes from the city center, there are also free parking spots in front of the hotel as well.

United KingdomRoom needed a bin, the only bin available in the room was a bathroom bin. Hairdryer - when asked to borrow one they didn’t have one available so meant it was another 2 days before I could wash/dry hair. I can’t understand why a hairdryer can’t be put in each room?
Location of hotel was great. Easy to walk to centre and supermarket around the corner for extra bits if needed.

United StatesNot much to complain about. Biggest complaint: no coffee stand in the morning! Also, the half glass door in the shower made it easy to flood the whole bathroom floor.
The location was a little farther from city center, but easily walkable. We had a rental car, so I loved the included parking spots. The room was cozy and very clean / modern. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic!

United KingdomWhile we had no truly negative feedback, we have some ideas: 1. I would say that the hotel should speak with FlyBus so that they know where the hotel is, because we got dropped off in the wrong location as the hotel is brand new. (Not the hotel's fault, but I'm sure will shortly be fixed with some email/visit/conversation) 2. A rental service for irons and hair driers. Offer to guests to let them know it's available if so. 3. Also, we left an expensive bottle of shampoo behind but it went missing in a few hours by the time we returned to look for it. If someone left something in the room, maybe keep it for a day or two just in case. 4. A coffee machine or barista on entrance so guests who have been battling the cold could enjoy a warm drink upon arrival. 5. Icelandic snacks for sale perhaps?
We loved our stay here. What we loved: 1. The room and location! 2. Plenty of parking in front and back (ask the front desk about rules) 3. Staff were very nice and helpful 4. The ease to get into town was great. It was close enough to town that a short bus trip from a stop 5 mins away takes you into central in 10 minutes, walking will take longer but it's a lovely walk(and we were there in the dead of winter). 5. Water pressure in the shower is INSANELY good! Seriously, be careful, you could use it as a sidewalk pressure washer, but it's absolutely to die for. We loved it. 6. It was so quiet in this neighborhood, too, which we loved so much compared to a central hotel we stayed at which wasn't much more convenient and was much louder and bothersome.
