Unfortunately the walls are thin, one hears both the neighbors and the bars outside if it's a weekend.

    Perfect location, nice bathroom.

The parking was a headache. There should be a space spesifically for elderly persons using the guesthouse. The nightclub accross the house was very loud all night and every night which made it difficult to sleep. Some guest were not adhearing to rules about the quiet time mentioned in the rules.

Liked that it was located near shops, cinema and restuarants like Berlin.

what ruins this place, as others have noted, is the noise on the weekends. And it’s not the noise from outside, it’s the clueless, obnoxious, loud and rude people staying at the Guesthouse who stay for one night (Friday or Saturday) and slam every door, stomp up and down the stairs drunk and are really the worst types of travelers. It’s not management’s fault they don’t read signs and don’t realize there are lights for the stairs or that there are signs saying private parking or that all you have to do is turn the deadbolt on the front door instead of slamming it repeatedly and shaking the entire building awake. One note for management: everyone in Akureyri knows that front door code, as evidenced by the local IIcelandic kids who tried to throw a rager the first night I arrived.

I absolutely loved my cozy and super clean room at the Torg Guesthouse. It was well appointed and the staff were helpful and kind. The location and price can’t be beat. I stayed 9 days and Sunday through Thursday is was perfect.

Noise from nightlife. Very unclear sign stating private parking for Torg. Very easy to take it as guest parking but turns out that it is only for staff. Guy on a black pick up yelled at us for unloading the car in the parking space.

    Clean, new and looks nice

The place is sort of loud, but that is advertised in the information about the building. It is just due to the fact that it is in a neighborhood near bars and restaurants and people are walking around and partying in the evenings, especially on weekends. The stairs could be difficult for guests with mobility issues or a lot of luggage to carry up. I was traveling light and it was just fine.

Beautiful little room and attached bathroom. The central location is very nice, easily walkable to shops, restaurants, and bars. Nice view over one of the central squares in town. Comfortable bed and bedding.

Tiny bathroom, you can’t even close the door when you are using the toilet. It’s an old building and was a little bit noisy from the other rooms.

Not the properties fault, but there was some sort of festivities going on in the Square that lasted until about five in the morning. This resulted in us getting very poor sleep and having a tough day.

The room was beautiful, and it had a great view of the town Square. It was very cozy and nice to be able to watch TV.

The standard double room is too small (the one-bedroom apartment is good). And the free toiletries were enough for only one night, and they weren't refilled, because there was no daily room cleaning (so then it would be better to provide more toiletries).

Convenient location in the town center, with good breakfast options and a bakery right outside.

Was very very noisy ( especially on a Saturday night) both from outside and also people above and to the side of me. Walls are very thin, so good to have ear plugs.

Since our apartment was on the last floor it was more like an attic, so in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms you really need to crouch to not touch the ceiling. Also we book the apartment for 5 people but we only got towels and clean sheets for 4. Another aspect is that this is located right near a small square, which hosts some events from time to time. There was a small concert that you could hear very clearly with the windows closed that lasted until 1 am.

Apartment look nice and was clean.

The standard room was very small but cleverly designed to maximise space

Ideal location in central Akureyri. The Modern Art Museum is just a stone's throw away from the hotel and a short walkaway to the botanical garden and the restaurant scene. The hotel style charachter remains classic, yet with a modern touch in the choice of colour scheme and furniture pieces. The service is of high standard.
