Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThis venerable hotel in Poznań certainly knows how to showcase its history, though I’d much prefer if its traditions were limited to the charming old photographs on the walls rather than extending to the antiquated carpets in the corridors or the creaky elevator escorting me to my room. The staff, as previously mentioned, doesn't exactly add a sparkle to the stay. Their presence is more obligatory than exceptional. It's problematic that the restaurant is detached from the hotel - Room Service, often a standard convenience at many establishments, here feels like an upscale endeavor – why should an extra fee dictate whether a meal can be enjoyed within the comfort of your room? Evening outings can also turn unexpectedly awkward. Step outside the restaurant to catch a breath or change scenery due to the indoor clamor, and you might find yourself chased down by a staff member demanding immediate payment. The reason? A bizarre policy rooted in past patrons’ dine-and-dash antics, which frankly adds an unwelcome rustic flair to the experience. Navigating these quirks can be charming to some but off-putting to others. If you're seeking a hotel experience in Poznan that's free from such peculiarities, this place might not resonate with your vibe.
Let’s start with location - it’s a tale of two cities. If your mission in Poznan is to navigate the city by car, then Mercure hotel offers a sanctuary with ample parking and stress-free access. But if you're dreaming of leisurely strolls in the charming Old Market Square, brace yourself for a bit of a trek, as the hotel stands a considerable distance away. Five star Sheraton hotel is just a stone’s throw from this place, I often lean towards Mercure for a few practical perks - the expansive space in front of the hotel is a breath of fresh air for anyone who’s battled for a parking spot in a cramped city center. Also price: here you will find a room for twice the price of the hotel next door, and the quality of the rooms does not make much difference. The difference certainly remains in the customer service - at the Sheraton, you just feel like you're in a five-star hotel. Just check what you care about most on any given day. The hotel itself has seen better days but has been spruced up to meet four-star expectations. The rooms? Decently appointed and spacious, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of urban exploration or business meetings. As for the service, it's pleasant enough, however, it often hovers closer to a three-star experience, never quite stepping over the threshold into four-star territory - a real pity, considering the potential simmering beneath its surface.

AustraliaHairdryer was one of the ones that is permanently attached to the wall and you have to hold the on button down while you use it. Really difficult if you have a lot of hair to dry. Hotel was able to provide one that wasn’t attached to the wall though, so it wasn’t a big deal in the end. The shower was in a deep bath which nice if you wanted a bath, but would have been difficult for someone with mobility problems to get in and out of the shower.
Beds were comfortable. Room was spacious (superior room) with a couch. Restaurant on site was good and very convenient given we were there in Winter and didn’t want to venture out on our first day. Location was good also.

PolandThe room was facing a very busy street and I could hear the trams all night long. I recommend asking for a room on the other side of the hotel.
The location is great! The hotel is close to the city center and the main railway station. The room was clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly and breakfast was good as well.

United KingdomThe property was good, only thing could have done with was body lotion in the bathroom.
The hotel was in an ideal location, it took about 20 minutes or so to walk to the city centre. The rooms were spacious and had tea/coffee makers. The bed was also comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The gym was great, especially given it wasn't a huge gym, it had all the equipment you might need including machines, weights and glut bands.
